@LeachKathleen@YoniFreedhoff We always make sure to send a medication list! If as of next week you choose to do the Paxlovid Rx yourself do you have any way to access labs? (Genuine Q not sure if pharmacists have access to Clinical Connect etc)
@LeachKathleen@YoniFreedhoff Change announced that pharmacists can Rx as of 12th. All for increased access but I’m not sure I trust every single pharmacist to check labs etc especially without access to results. I tend to send rx to choice local independent pharmacies I know are reliable for counselling.
Ever heard that “High Blood Pressure is a Silent Killer?”
That’s because it causes vascular disease- and vascular diseases can be silent… until they’re not.
SARS-CoV-2 can cause a vascular disease in some people. That’s why it’s important to try not to get sick with it.
When I was in residency there was fear of a TB outbreak due to a patient with abdominal TB not diagnosed until later in his admission. His floor shared air flow with the resident lounge and the pediatric unit who had patients from 9mo - 16 at the time - all possibly exposed.
What baffles me is nurses have been telling the gov what would make them stay and instead they tout unsustainable/bandaid solutions like the retention $$. @SylviaJonesMPP@fordnation why not just listen to nurses??
The $5000 retention bribe she just talked about is a waste of time solution. It is money owed for some of the increased workload. Start with #RepealBill124, improve working conditions, provide 10 #paidsickdays, fast-track #IENs and RESPECT nurses. Enough of the gaslighting!
If you want to look for more information about the importance of this ID project, check out https://t.co/3xF3SQ19tt - in health care helping people without a health card can be a major barrier and I am glad there are groups like @StreetHealthTO working to rectify this.
My dad's business (@northernvillage) won this today! This was for (among other things) working with @StreetHealthTO developing a software to have underhoused people get access to ID (like health cards, etc). Proud of him every day for the work he does & glad its being recognized!
BREAKING: We are the winner of this Small Business Award! We are floored. An enormous thank you to @MeridianCU. We want to include our partners in this win. They are essential to our Village. Congrats to all of us, @StreetHealthTO, @ChildrensFdnGW and @animikii!
I just found out from my (teacher) mother that all her students are getting take-home rapid tests for the holidays but none of the teachers are. Tell me how this makes sense?! #FreeTheRATs
I am concerned with dismissing the impact of Omicron because there are not as many hospitalizations on initial reports. Two main reasons: 1. People are less vigilant. 2. The numbers game of percentages - even if %hosp is low if high case numbers hospitalizations also become high.
@NaheedD I spent hundreds of dollars on rapid tests to do with my family for Christmas (some of whom are coming back from out of country the week before). Thankful to be able to afford it and find it baffling you have to have money to have this reassurance and safety. #FreeTheRATS
1/ SARS-CoV-2 travels in aerosol particles emitted from an infected individual. You want to reduce the amount of these particles you breathe (lower inhalation dose is important). We know from decades of research that the following lower your inhalation dose of aerosol particles.
@AmitAryaMD Can you even buy these tests to take home? We wanted to do rapid testing pre-thanksgiving since our family (no kids so all full vax) was coming from multiple provinces. They had to be done in person with no option for take-home tests even!
1/ Longer-term #COVID19 vaccine effectiveness (Ontario data):
*Remains high against infection & severe illness
*Remains high for all variants
*Remains high for mRNA, AZ & mixed schedules
Phenomenal presentation & data by @DrJeffKwong:

@DocMCohen It’s almost like what I wear on my feet (or anywhere else of my body) has no bearing on my medical knowledge. Yet another demonstration of “professionalism” just being gatekeeping against women and people of colour.
If you're looking to avoid those businesses in Ontario required to ensure vaccination of patrons but who are explicitly advertising that they won't, here's their very well named searchable database https://t.co/CASZ88wS6u
Today was a good day. After a long convo about risk/benefit of vaccine vs COVID, one of my most vaccine-hesitant patients got vaccinated. She (like many) was scared based on the false info spread by antivax groups. Proud of her for taking steps to learn & make an informed choice.
