The Standard newspaper has unfortunately devolved into an outlet for propaganda.
Today’s headline has already been publicly disputed, raising serious questions about whether the editors are taking the time 2 fact-check their sensational stories before going 2 print.

I joined H.E. Deputy President @kindikikithure in Laikipia County today to address the pressing issue of human-wildlife conflict. This region, endowed with rich biodiversity, reflects both the beauty and complexity of our national heritage. While wildlife is central to our tourism and economy, we must never lose sight of the communities that bear the greatest cost of coexistence.
Laikipia remains a priority hotspot. Last year, H.E. President Dr. William Ruto launched the digital compensation scheme in Rumuruti, an affirmation of our Government’s commitment to affected families.
The beneficiaries drawn from different parts of the vast Laikipia county are victims of elephant invasion in their farm, trumped up relatives by elephants and attack by leopards on their livestock
