It was all smiles in Taita Taveta the home to the largest National park in the country as Tourism and Wildlife CS Rebecca Miano issued cheques to human wildlife conflict victims beneficiaries.

The government is in the process of sorting out all claims after a long period of injustice dating way back so as to promote peaceful coexistence between communities and Wildlife.

The CS also stressed that the government is focused on prevention of conflicts through building fences , providing water which is a major change and sustainability @rebecca_miano

This region, endowed with rich biodiversity, reflects both the beauty and complexity of our national heritage. While wildlife is central to our tourism and economy, we must never lose sight of the communities that bear the greatest cost of coexistence.

Laikipia remains a priority hotspot. Last year, H.E. President Dr. William Ruto launched the digital compensation scheme in Rumuruti, an affirmation of our Government’s commitment to affected families.
