There is a precedent for suspending the operation of the Common Travel Area for security reasons. It was during WW2 & meant there were quite intense controls on travel between NI & GB. Probably not an outcome anyone wants to see today.
The first 10 #Penguin#paperbacks spotted at the @natlibscot#Edinburgh first printed in July 1935 for sixpence-the cost of a cigarette pack, democratizing #literature. As the story goes, publisher #AllenLane was on a way back from a visit to see #AgathaChristie. having nothing to #read, he used the time on the train back to #London (from Exeter) to draw a plan to publish reprints of the best hardbacks in attractive, easily & cheaply available paperbacks. He would call these books #Penguins (of course among the first lot were Christie’s books).
And to think both I and my brother @j_bindra have published with @penguinrandom ! @PenguinIndia@PenguinBooks@PenguinUKBooks

@Aldamir@Tolstoy1999@McKinleyAn I think it's the academic hood for an Honorary Doctorate in Divinity, usually conferred upon incoming Moderators by the Presbyterian Theological Faculty, Ireland.
Recomendable lectura.

We owe those who serve the UK the kit to do the job and the loyalty to stand by them when it's done. We are failing on both.
I’ve spent my whole time in government making that case. Number 10 will not listen, so I am resigning as Minister for the Armed Forces.

Pope Leo XIV blessed the Tower of Jesus Christ in the ceremony marking the centenary of Gaudí’s death, attended by King Felipe,Queen Letizia &President Sánchez.

We're delighted with the excellent documentary Sir Gareth has made, which gets to the heart of our core issues, & we're very proud of all who contributed to its production, including AMHW Trustees Mark Brooks of @CPRMenBoys & @SShaljean of Lads Need Dads https://t.co/GjcfVG1hqz

This would be marvellous to see. It's difficult to underestimate the significance of the Tyndale Bible. The first (albeit incomplete) English language Bible to be translated directly from the original Hebrew and Greek texts, it is said that up to 80–90% of the King James New Testament echoes William Tyndale’s phrasing.
It was Tyndale's mission that everyone should have access to the Bible in their own language or, in his own words "to cause the boy that driveth the plough to know the Scripture." Indeed, Tyndale gave us some memorable and enduring phrases such as "Let there be light..."; "The powers that be..."; "The spirit is willing..."; and "Fight the good fight..."
For his pains, Tyndale was hunted across Europe, betrayed, strangled, and burned at the stake in 1536.
