The powers that be are fearful of 2 young men with agency and talent. Ryan Coogler and Shedeur Sanders. Ryan Coogler’s deal where he regains ownership of his movie after 25 years has caused the media to prophesy the end of the Hollywood studio system. Shedeur Sanders epitomizes the NIL system in College Football where the athletes are empowered to reap benefits from the multi billion dollar industry they participate in. His fall in the NFL draft is meant to send a message that the owners at this level will control the revenue stream and power. It’s not about Coach Prime or an attitude of entitlement. It’s about power and money. Shedeur has the talent and agency. He still has leverage as well. Congratulations to these two young American entrepreneurs demonstrating that with talent, power and opportunity will follow. The American aesthetic on display.
