The @Chuckey_DoakMS Black Knights were well represented last night when students with perfect TCAP scores were honored with their teachers. Extremely proud of all the work all the kids put in last year and already at the start of this year!

6th grade math has now transitioned to ratios and rate. We’ll be working in this module for the next several weeks. Traditionally, this is when 6th graders really start to knock the rust off from summer break and their confidence in math begins to strengthen and improve.

Some parents judge schools by the test scores.  But there are a lot of parents who judge schools by the attitude of their child when they get home in the afternoon. 

We need to be working to raise student achievement… but we also need to be creating good experiences for kids.

Teachers don’t need to be reminded of their 'why'—it can feel dismissive of their dedication. Teachers are deeply committed to their purpose and the impact they have on their students. Instead, encouraging, inspiring, and focusing on strengths is much more meaningful.
