اربوں روپے خسارے کا بجٹ پیش کرنے والی شدید مالی بحران کی شکار پنجاب یونیورسٹی اسپیکر قومی اسمبلی کے دباؤ پر گوجر خان میں نئے کیمپس کی منظوری دینے جا رہی ہے، جسے بجا طور پر تعلیمی سے زیادہ سیاسی قرار دیا جا رہا ہے۔ محض چار مضامین کی تدریس کے لیےمجوزہ سیاسی کیمپس پہلے سے موجود جہلم کیمپس سے آدھے گھنٹے کے فاصلے پر کرائے کی عمارت میں کھولا جائے گا، جو شاید فرد واحد کے سیاسی مقصد کو تو پورا کردے لیکن یونیورسٹی کو مالی و انتظامی بحران کی گہری کھائی میں دھکیل دے گا جس کا خمیازہ آنے والی نسلیں بھگتیں گی۔ یاد رہے کہ گوجر خان کے گردو نواح میں پہلے ہی سے چکوال یونیورسٹی، بارانی یونیورسٹی اور راولپنڈی اسلام آباد کی نصف درجن سے زائد جامعات مصروف کار ہیں۔
مستقل وائس چانسکر کی عدم موجودگی میں اس نوعیت کے دیرپا اثرات کے حامل فیصلے کیے جانے کی ماضی میں کوئی نظیر نہیں ملتی۔
