A seemingly short prodrome can precede catastrophic neurological complications. Early recognition, neuroimaging, aggressive ICP management and timely treatment are crucial.

🚨 Respiratory infections are on the rise in Mumbai.
Recently, we initiated VV-ECMO for a severe leptospirosis case complicated by refractory hypoxemic respiratory failure -a reminder of how rapidly infectious illnesses can progress to life-threatening ARDS.
Early recognition, timely referral and access to advanced critical care can be lifesaving.

Better to do a tracheostomy ( if not done ) , arrange for an ICU set up at home with round the clock trained nursing staff and continue supportive care at home .
