Fun Touhou/AVC Fact:
In the source code for x264 (the encoder for a video format used by ~70% of videos online) there's a secret 9th tuning option designed specifically to optimize the compression process SOLELY for Touhou.

Genuinely the only thing that's been stopping me from clearing Flandre's BRUTAL extra stage is getting thprac working with Touhou 6 on linux (took me several hours)

@SKULLHORNETS @jendorei My experience is with re-encoding not recording but yeah I assume hardware encoding is better there (i still hate it tho). I found the option only saved ~6mb & the VMAF almost the same. I only really shared it bc it's funny, not bc it was useful lol.

@RONJIX Videos would be re-compressed by X so I attached screenshots from the videos instead. I've put them on a file hosting site now which should avoid that, but it's hard to tell the difference anyways.

I wouldn't use this setting tho, I like VP9 & especially AV1 ❤️ for these. I just found this setting interesting.

@ozeniken I searched online and 70% was the only estimation I saw that wasn't from like 2010. I'm not sure how reliable the source is but yeah I expected it to be VP9 as well.
