Another component of integrated weed management. Attack the seedbank. Prevent viable seed from returning to the soil, enhance degradation/decay of seeds in the soil, and prevent emerged weeds from setting seed as much as possible.
Just found this in a bean field, will be tested for waterhemp DNA and herbicide resistance. If you find a suspicious pigweed do NOT put it through the combine. Bag it and burn it.
Amazing opportunity being apart of the @UofGuelphOAC Weeds team yesterday at the NEWSS competition. Learned so much and managed to walk away with 2nd place in the undergraduate team division!
