@stevecovino Love the show. Sometimes I'm just drowning in political BS, but the second I hit play on CnR, my whole vibe changes. Seriously, thanks to you, @richdavis, and the legend @spotcenter for holding it down all week. You guys are the best.
Sex gods from outer space? Monster Magnet pulled it off with the album Powertrip. This one had 3 singles on the charts but boy a boy the whole thing is a treat. Tractor, Baby Götterdämerung, 3rd Eye Landslide are some of my favs. Max enjoyment on road trips.
Playing an instrument keeps me grounded in a lot of ways. Let's me know that I'm still tapped into the source. To know that I haven't completely lost my way.
This Fire, Jacqueline, Darts of Pleasure, The Dark of the Matinee, Michael... major earworms. And yes I still think it's always better on holiday. It's a great idea to only work when we need the money.
2004 was like a fever dream. There was an excitement that permiated the air of white suburbia. In the musical rotation of that excitment was a track called Take Me Out by @Franz_Ferdinand . You'll find real truths and passion in each track in their self titled album.
Louis XIV was a band I seen open for Hot Hot Heat. They put on a great show. Bought their album. Highly suggestive lyrics. It's a fun one. Sex and rock n roll.
2002 was a great year for party bands. All we wanted to do was forget. And Hot Hot Heat was one band that rose to the occasion. Make Up the Breakdown was an album that I cranked on the way to my summer job at the Home Depot. Every. Song. Was. Sung.
You can't find this album on streamlng services. Hard copies are available but if you're all about the the mp3 then you're talking about dealing with the Russians. If you don't know what that means then you're better off buying a used copy.
If garage blues punk is your thing then I suggest The Bloody Hollie. I first heard them through @LoFiSTL way way back in the early days of video podcasting. But man their 2007 album Who to Trust, Who to Kill, Who to Love kicks my dick in hard.
Humid, little to no ventilation. But get the right band in there and you'll stay wanting more. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs capture that essence on Fever to Tell. Once again, this 40 min album is good from start to finish.
When I was a high school DJ I would play Heads Will Roll remixes by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Fun track but I remeber when their album Fever to Tell came out and there was something incredibly sweaty about the album. Listening to it felt like being in a dive bar venue.
The whole album has a heavy religious themes to it. You can figure it out for yourself. But this one goes hard with banger after banger. It's an incredible work. Thanks, TypicalListener. Hope you're doing well
I'm big into chatrooms. And podcasts. I was in the @keithandthegirl chat room in 2009 when a guy named TypicalListener from Tampa recommended this album called The Body, The Blood, The Machine by The Thermals. I gave it a listen and it did not disappoint.
Look, Cake pulled me in with Motorcade of Generosity but I really stayed for Fashion Nugget. Pretty sure I know every lyric from start to finish. What a monumental album. 10 out of 10.
It was vibe. Just a fun groovy sexy album from start to finish. Some bangers include Romeo, Jus 1 Kiss, amd Broken Dreams. Best listened to on late night rides in the whip.
There's an air of hysteria that permiates the Florida air. When i was a teenager caught up with the romance of life I'd load up the Kia Sephia with friends and we'd go to the beaches for spring break. I would blast Basement Jaxx's Rooty slow cruising down A1A.
