Taxing billionaires and raising wages are not radical ideas. What's radical is watching over 60% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck while one man has the means to acquire and tank an entire social media platform in less than a month.
@RepJayapal You should be careful of slinging "ludicrous opinion" around. It probably is unlawful. The potus has no authority to declare debts forgiven by executive order. Something should be done about student debt but this isn't it. Good try though.
You hear Republicans say it, "OHHHH Bernie Sanders is an extremist!" REALLY? You want to know what extremism is? The Republican agenda to give tax breaks to billionaires and cut Social Security. THAT is extremism.
@McCormickProf It would be nice if it were that simple but it's not. It's a war between democracy and religious authoritarianism. There is no place for compromise. Never give an inch. The one offers hope for the future. The other offers the dark ages.
@RBReich Increase in competition won't solve that problem, it never has because greed infects all businesses in a capitalist system where they compete to see who is the greediest. That is driven by the legal gambling system called the stock market that controls publicly traded business.
@JohnFetterman "Market forces" is bullshit for "let corporate america decide what prices and wages should be." What we need is an "American Union" with ordinary Americans making those decisions. We start by voting Democrat in every election. THAT is what democracy is all about.
@Ilhan Greed is not the sole problem, it's much more complicated. The high pay rates for those executives are payoffs for worker mistreatment and union suppression. Being a slaver pays well in republicanism.
@IsaacDovere TBH, all those anti-socialist repubs sure are first in line for socialist dollars they voted against. Just look at the FEMA program. Socialism at it's best and who gets the most benefits?
Red southeastern states. Over and over.
Folks, there must be accountability for the first attempted coup in the 233-year history of American democracy. Not to mention Trump’s theft of top-secret government documents.
Prosecute. Now.
@SenWarren The Supreme Court has always been an illegitimate political tool, just like the electoral college. The college should be eliminated and Justices should be elected every 4 years. States rights should be curtailed as well. Federal law should be the law of the land.
@krystalball What an absurd statement. There is no technology that is a human right. Next thing you'll be telling us that Apple phones and watches are a human right. You should get a grip on reality.
However, it is a health and safety issue and should be addressed by OSHA.
2010: Billionaires spent $31 million on elections
2020: Billionaires spent $1.2 billion on elections
How can they get away with this?
Two words: Citizens United.
