On Dec. 7, 2023, after Israel had already killed 17,177 Palestinians in Gaza, including 7,729 children, Gloria Steinem was the first listed signatory to a public statement condemning Hamas and demanding the release of Israeli hostages.
In the days since then, even though she was still giving interviews and making public appearances, I can’t find a single statement from her condemning Israel’s genocide in Gaza. That’s our “feminist icon.”
The orange Hitler on Congo, earlier: “We will be sending our biggest companies to the Congo. We will take out some of the rare earth, and take out some of the assets.”
The orange Hitler on Venezuela today: “We’re taking out millions and millions of barrels of oil, going to Houston ... we’re making a fortune.”
The US openly celebrates taking Venezuela’s and Congo’s natural wealth, while American media reduces the whole thing to whether this “free” loot from the Global South will make things cheaper for the average American. This is one of the most brutal and fascistic things imaginable.
The attacks on Angie & Abdul are all about being against the genocide of the Palestinian people. The genocide deniers are scared that their "kill them all" position is losing everywhere in our country.
They already lost when they have to come after the color of their skin & their faith.
“They want to take away the one thing we love. I swear, my heart is breaking.”
Following the Israeli announcement that kites launched from Gaza would be treated as threats, a Palestinian child breaks down in tears as he tears apart the kites he loves.
'Israel' has not only turned Gaza into a place of devastation; it is also determined to strip away the smallest remaining sources of joy from Gaza’s children.
Mamdani supporting Jeffries is shameful.
Jeffries is not only a Zionist who supports the genocide—which should be reason enough to reject him—but he also represents everything that is wrong with American politics.
He is a deeply corrupt establishment politician who sells out on virtually every major issue.
Mamdani using his massive platform to endorse someone like Jeffries matters.
It reveals very clearly that he is not actually interested in confronting the establishment—and confronting the establishment is a prerequisite for producing any meaningful change.
You cannot make serious progress on Palestine, healthcare, war, climate, economic inequality, or virtually anything else without confronting and ultimately replacing the corrupt political figures and institutions standing in the way.
For everyone saying, “It’s a pragmatic, calculated political move”:
You’re right.
But the calculation is not about advancing the movement he claims to represent.
It is about cementing his place—and the place of politicians like him—inside the Democratic Party establishment.
He is not here to challenge them.
He is willing to play the game alongside them.
You cannot credibly present yourself as an insurgent against a broken system while using your political capital to strengthen the very people who maintain it.
The two simply do not go together.
I’ve never once claimed that the assessment of the foul was white privilege (that was your assumption). Try exercising your critical thinking skills, I know you studied psych. Furthermore, I’m the LAST thing from ignorant or asinine when it comes to speaking on “white privilege”, do ya research on that one. I actually went to school, one of the top universities might I add, to educate myself on this exact subject. I would never use that term as a rhetorical weapon knowing the historical and social weight it holds without having the proper evidence to substantiate it.
