Dear Scott @scottmann4NC
Our manufacturing supply chain, based in Hull, is on its knees
My own 2021 order will be 50% down on 2020
Please therefore support the @EmmaHardyMP adjournment debate on 15 June on “Support for the caravan industry in Hull & East Riding”
Thank you
@BHHPA @OliverDowden@DCMS My static caravan. Is self contained. Not shared with public. Same social distancing as staying in my own house. 5m space between Van's. I pose no additional risk to the community. Please allow me immediately return to my safe happy place.
Thank you @OliverDowden @DCMS for your confirmation of the lower risks of self-contained accommodation. We are ready just as soon as you give the green light.
Thank you @OliverDowden
That reduced risk in the great outdoors applies equally to people staying in self-contained accommodation such as is found on holiday & touring parks.
Please #ProtectTourismJobs, coastal/rural communities we sustain & caravan manufacturing supply chain
All our units are a minimum of 6m apart, our owners come here for the peace and quiet , and for those who are already being able to use our fishing lakes it is very hard to explain why they can't use their caravans .
So now we are being told something we've known all along, our owners would be safer at their caravans than at a supermarket queue, where's the common sense gone @BorisJohnson save tourism jobs.
Dr Smith, consultant virologist has described the chances of catching Covid-19 outside in the fresh air as “vanishingly small”.. applies equally to the chances of tens of thousands of small, family-owned tourist-dependent businesses surviving ... https://t.co/rn4LVQNRO1
We can also have our lake full of fishermen and ur footpath through the park busy but we can't have our owners back. What happened to common sense @ACunninghamMP
So this weekend the beauty spots of the #Yorkshire Dales - and other parts of the country - have been inundated by large groups of people gathering blatantly ignoring social distancing rules. It makes a mockery of caravan parks being closed @matthancock @BHHPA @JulianSmithUK
Yesterday I did my weekly shopping and spent more time in contact with other people in an hour than I would have done in a week long holiday in a self catering caravan or motor caravan. Come on, government can do better than this!
Our caravans are a minimum of 6m between , we have no shared facilities barring fresh air , our owners would be safer here than in their town apartments.
Could holiday parks open sooner?
@CMO_England giving careful thought
Explaining the impact of closure & intrinsic self-distancing of self-contained park accommodation with min 5m spacing and cont'd closure of shared facilities
@10DowningStreet@OliverDowden@HuddlestonNigel
We are allowed to open the fishing lakes on park and anyone can walk the footpaths through the Park but the owners can't use their caravans , more intelligent thought needs to be put to this
Thank you Glenn @PearleLakePark for explaining how holiday parks work for their private caravan owners: "safe form of holiday and with respect for the local community"
Transport Sec @GrantShapps confirms lower risk outdoors than indoors. Jonathan Van Tam promises 'careful thought' to outdoor holidays in caravans & camping, staying within family groups.
The industry, our customers & our local communities count on you to #ProtectTourismJobs
We have written to Prof Whitty @CMO_England to explain mental health benefits of outdoor holidays, how our customers come in household groups & the intrinsic self distancing of self-contained accommodation with min 5m spacing with cont’d closure of shared facilities for safety

“Unlocking our society and economy: continuing the conversation” Much work ahead & no dates, but accommodation without shared facilities to open at AMBER so hoping eg holiday parks with facilities closed https://t.co/XfEiX0wmos
Up to 80,000 workers will be needed over the coming months. The British people will be asked to step up and support our farmers at a time of national emergency. https://t.co/YJZtScgQuy #FeedtheNation#farminguk
