@withwozney Wonder if we will be having the same talk a few years from now regarding the over use of hand sanitizer and chemicals sprayed several times a day on student eating and work surfaces.
@loveteachblog It's true and I think sick kids should stay home until better. However often parents send their sick children to school because their work place is not supportive of employees taking sick time! Systems need to change.
@baygirl19751 @NSTeachersUnion@StephenMcNeil Why are we wearing masks when it clearly states on the box... 'does not protect against Covid-19' Therefore are masks and social distancing a cheap way for McNeil/Strang to give the illusion of safety to avoid addressing class sizes?
@withwozney@zachchurchill@TheCurrentCBC Wouldn't a collaboration of voices be more effective? Never seen a paediatrician or any public health official in a Nova Scotia classroom. I wonder paediatricans stance on using alcohol based hand sanitizer on young hands multiple times a day.
@NSTeachersUnion Elementary classrooms provided with alcohol based hand sanitizer only. Age recommendation listed on the bottle is for 12 years and up😧
@TimothyHalman@thesmacleodshow@NEWS957 Students being expected to keep: coats, backpack, shoes, books, schools supplies, lunch bag, water bottles at their desk in a crammed classroom is a major fire hazard! Winter will be a disaster!
@Doyle_PE Also cramming kids into small over crowded spaces with their backpack, coats, shoes, water bottles, lunch bags school supplies, books at their desk is a serious fire hazard.@withwozney@NSTeachersUnion
@Tim_Bousquet@NSTeachersUnion@zwoodford Schools are sending out emails asking families to send water with their child for the day, due to limited access to water. Not providing adequate drinking water is a huge safety issue.
Got littles? Got tables? Meet our personal literacy and math tool boxes. Rotate from their cubbies morning to afternoon to avoid sharing and spreading germs. Simple. Effective. Doable. Good luck teacher friends.@Crichton_Park @HRCE_NS
@kellyemja AM- Literacy bins will be placed under their chair, while the math bins are stored in their cubbies, then I will switch for pm. Introducing the bins, we will learn the names how to organize and care of items.
