Age-appropriate is subjective. I read books/watched movies as a child that would make you blanch, but I came out well-adjusted and successful (anecdotal evidence, I know).
Books should never be banned. We should never restrict access to knowledge.
It blows my mind that I didn’t learn about the US’s Japanese internment camps during WWII until senior year of high school, and it was likely only because it was part of the AP US History curriculum.

@ADamronMD We do this as part of our bootcamp for incoming first years! Basically a telephone game where each gets an object, writes a gross description, then passes it to the next who draws the description, then passes to the next who describes the drawing…it’s hilarious to see the result
