I was not discrediting the credentials of Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar. I was just curious how the communications will be conducted - in English ? Hindi? I’m assuming that a sizable section of those under his command would be drawn from the region. And the strength in bilingual communication would be limited to the officers cadre at best. I wish the bdistinguished Lt Gen a very successful stint as the Army commander of SC.

@kay The Greeks and Indians had contacts even before Alexander's time. But as you know Alexander's last campaign was in Northwest India .After his death his General Seleucus ruled over much of the conquered territory.
But he lost it in a war with the mighty Indian emperor ChandraGupta Maurya who reigned from the heartland of India.
Seleucus sued for peace and married off his daughter Helena to the emperor to maintain peace.
