The current allocation of FMG internship seats in medical colleges and hospitals-capped at just 7.5%—is severely inadequate. We urge an increase to 20% in colleges, addressing a critical issue that demands immediate action.
Key concerns:
💧Severe shortage across multiple states:
Numerous FMGs struggle to secure internship seats, leading to prolonged uncertainty and distress.

💧Escalating protests & wasted time: The lack of adequate seats fuels frustration among FMGs, forcing them to protest instead of progressing in their careers.

💧Unnecessary burden on NMC & FMGs:
The council faces heightened pressure to address recurring grievances, adding administrative strain while FMGs endure
prolonged hardship.

💧Impact on healthcare system:
Delays in FMG internships ultimately affect workforce readiness, slowing the integration of qualified professionals into India's medical system.
A prompt revision of seat allocation will not only ease FMG struggles but also enhance the efficiency of medical education and internship placement across the country.

💔 We lost a life.
A 3rd-year PG resident in Pharmacology took his own life — pushed beyond limits by a toxic academic culture and constant mental harassment over his thesis.

🧠 He was not weak. He was exhausted.
📚 He didn’t give up — he was failed by a system that refuses to care.

Serious issue 🚨

Internship Crisis in UP for FMGs

The recently published list of internship seats in Uttar Pradesh has raised serious concerns. Only 781 seats have been released, shockingly low for the 1200–1500 eligible domicile students, excluding non-domicile and FMG applicants.

Disturbingly, many Government Medical Colleges and ASMCs expected to have vacant seats by July were not included in the list.

Despite having the highest number of medical colleges in India, Uttar Pradesh is failing to provide fair opportunities. Immediate action is essential.

FMGs are currently protesting over inadequate internship seats.

तत्काल कार्रवाई की ज़रूरत: उत्तर प्रदेश में FMG इंटर्नशिप सीटें बढ़ाएं! 🩺

उत्तर प्रदेश में विदेशी मेडिकल स्नातक (FMG) इंटर्नशिप सीटों की कमी से जूझ रहे हैं। ~2,500 सीटों में से केवल ~800 आवंटित हुईं, जिससे 500+ FMG ₹6,000 शुल्क जमा करने के बाद भी इंतज़ार में हैं। दूसरा काउंसलिं�� राउंड दिसंबर 2025 तक टला, बिना UP डोमिसाइल प्राथमिकता के।

बिहार ने 4 जून, 2025 तक आवंटन कर लिया, लेकिन UP पीछे है। NMC ने 675 अस्पतालों को FMG इंटर्नशिप के लिए अधिकृत किया, जिसमें UP के 33 कॉलेजों में 382 सीटें और 31 कॉलेजों में 2,180 सीटें हैं।

ये सीटें क्यों नहीं जारी की गईं?
हम मांग करते हैं:

1. शेष 1,700+ सीटें तुरंत जारी करें।
2. UP डोमिसाइल FMG को प्राथमिकता दें।
3. दूसरा काउंसलिंग राउंड जल्द करें।
4. NMC नियमों के अनुसार FMG ��ो स्टाइपेंड (₹20,000–₹30,000/माह) दें।
हमारे भविष्य के डॉक्टरों का समर्थन करें!

• FMG भारत की डॉक्टरों की कमी को पूरा करने के लिए महत्वपूर्ण हैं, फिर भी 40% UP डोमिसाइल FMG इंतज़ार में हैं।

• NMC और सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने FMG के लिए समान स्टाइपेंड का आदेश दिया है। UP को पालन करना चाहिए!

• इसे शेयर करें और FMG की आवाज़ को बुलंद करें!

FMGs from UP have submitted a formal letter to Deputy CM sir @brajeshpathakup, highlighting the critical shortage of internship seats of FMGs and the delay in counseling across the state.
We urge @brajeshpathakup ji to take swift action on this issue.
Earlier this morning, a representative from AFA spoke with @NMC_BHARAT Chairman Dr. BN Gangadhar sir, discussing the urgent need to increase FMG internship seats-especially considering that FMGE is conducted twice a year and there are not enough seats to accommodate everyone for internship. He assured that necessary action will be taken to address this.
