Do you know which drugs to stop first in orthostatic hypotension? You might be surprised! The best drug is losartan, says @laramitchdr — and give it at night #BGSconf
@anzsgm The #anzsgm2024 dinner was amazing! Great food, great entertainment, lots of dancing well into the night and a surprise DJ set from keynote speaker @drandyclegg! Aus & NZ geriatricians can always be relied on to kick up their heels and cut loose on the dance floor!

The legendary Prof Sue Kurrle on the risks of bed rest. She quotes Richard Asher from 1947 “Teach us to live that we may dread/
Unnecessary time in bed/Get people up and we may save/Our patients from an early grave” #ANZSGM2024
This raises a really important issue - access to specialist health care (in this case mental health) for people in aged care homes. Older people deserve the same access as everyone else in the community, regardless of where they live! https://t.co/pTBk7jAC3z

I can only echo those sentiments @edstrivens - congratulations @JacquiCTClose on behalf of @anzsgm! Your achievements are an inspiration to all geriatricians
Many, many congratulations to Prof Jacqui Close AM for being made a Member of the

Being the Med Reg, a thread 🧵
