📌 WHAT IS HERPES?

Herpes is a viral infection caused by the Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV).
It has 2 main types:
•HSV-1 – causes oral herpes (cold sores around the mouth)
•HSV-2 – causes genital herpes
They can infect the mouth or the genitals through oral–genital contact.
