When we passed laws to protect girls' sports here in Texas, the radical left called it unconstitutional and discriminatory.
Today, the Supreme Court proved them wrong and affirmed what we’ve said all along. In the words of Justice Thomas: "A man does not have a legal right to compete against women just because he believes that he is a woman."
I'm proud that Texas was one of the 27 states that fought to protect girls' sports, and that the Supreme Court upheld that right in the ruling today.
This week, I chaired the Senate Business and Commerce Committee and joined my colleagues on the State Affairs Committee as we took up interim committee charges ahead of the next session.
In Business and Commerce, we tackled the rising cost of insurance, examined why rates are climbing, and discussed what can be done to ensure Texans are able to obtain fair, adequate, and reasonable insurance. The committee also discussed how Texas can continue to lead in financial innovation and reviewed the Broadband Development Office’s management of state and federal funds to ensure taxpayer dollars are spent efficiently and all communities have access to high-speed internet.
In State Affairs, we examined how Texas can continue to preserve and protect election integrity and security while improving efficiency. We also heard testimony on how abortion pills are being shipped illegally into our state and the harm they're causing to unborn children and mothers. Additionally, we looked at what more must be done to stop out-of-state proxy advisors from using Texans' pension funds to push their political agenda and block good-paying jobs from coming to Texas.
These interim hearings are where the groundwork gets laid. The work we did this week will shape legislation next session to lower costs, protect Texas families, grow our economy, and defend the conservative values that make Texas strong.
I'm excited to see Lt. Governor @DanPatrick launch the Lt. Dan Podcast, where each week he'll be going behind the headlines and diving into the real issues shaping our state and our nation. Be sure to tune in!
Today marks the premiere of my new podcast, Lt. Dan. Every week, we cut through the noise and go behind the headlines to tackle the issues, the people, and the stories shaping Texas and America.

The years go by fast, but every one of them with my three boys has been a blessing. Watching them grow up has been one of life's greatest gifts. Today, I'm also thinking of my own father, who I miss and am so grateful to for everything he taught me.
To all the fathers out there, thank you for all you do, and Happy Father's Day!
Heartbreaking to hear about the tragic accident at Edwards Air Force Base and the eight airmen who lost their lives aboard. Many Aggies remember the "Spirit of Aggieland" and the bond it served between our Aggie traditions and those who serve our nation. Praying for their families during this difficult time.
🚨 A plane with ties to Texas A&M is at the center of a tragic military aviation accident.
The U.S. Air Force B-52H Stratofortress that crashed Monday near Edwards Air Force Base in California, killing all eight people on board, was tail number 60-0061 — an aircraft known to many Aggies as the “Spirit of Aggieland.”
The bomber earned that nickname while under the command of former Aggie and then-307th Bomb Wing Commander Colonel Bruce Cox, who helped dedicate the aircraft to Texas A&M.
Over the years, the plane made several appearances connected to Aggieland, including a memorable 2017 flyover above Kyle Field and College Station during the retirement flight for Colonel Cox.
The aircraft also carried signed flags from Texas A&M teams, including the Lady Aggies basketball team and the Aggie baseball team during its College World Series run.
It’s important to note that the crew members who died in Monday’s crash were not the same crew involved in the 2017 flyover or retirement flight.
For many Aggies, “Spirit of Aggieland” was more than just a military aircraft. It was a unique symbol connecting Texas A&M’s traditions with the men and women serving our country.
Thank you to Mr. Mike Guidry for sharing these photos and memories.
Please keep the families, friends, and fellow service members of those lost in your thoughts and prayers. ❤️🇺🇸

Proud of Texas A&M & the incredible work happening at RELLIS. As Texas continues to grow, so does the demand on our electric grid. Reliable & dispatchable energy production is how we strengthen the grid & meet future demand.
Thank you Chancellor @Glenn_Hegar for your leadership!
The future will require enormous amounts of safe, reliable and affordable power.
The Texas A&M System is creating a place where innovators, researchers and industry can work together to develop the technologies that will help meet those challenges.
What is happening at RELLIS today will help shape the future of energy in Texas and across America.
Today, as our family gathers to remember Uncle Harvey and celebrate his life, I came across this photo of him, the boys, and their cousins from the first day of that 84th Legislative Session. What a blessing it was to have him as part of our family. We will greatly miss him.
I cast my vote early on Friday, but if you haven’t voted yet, don’t forget that today is your last chance to vote in the primary runoff elections. Polling locations will be open until 7 PM today.

Today we remember the patriots who gave everything to defend and protect our nation. On this Memorial Day, we honor their memories, their bravery, and their service. May we never forget their courage and the ultimate sacrifice they made for freedom.
Today, I was proud to stand with & support my friend @mayes_middleton for Attorney General! Serving alongside him in the Senate, I've seen firsthand that he's not only a deep thinker but a principled conservative leader who never backs down. He's the right man to be our next AG!
Just met an inspiring group of men from Adult and Teen Challenge of Texas at the Casey’s in Milano!
They told me about the life-changing work their group does to help people overcome addiction and find hope through faith-based recovery programs. Most of the leadership are graduates themselves.
They have 12 treatment campuses across Texas, and craft and sell these beautiful handmade wooden crosses to help fund their mission.
Their work is truly making a difference in Texas and beyond!
Hope to see everyone tomorrow at The Angry Elephant in Bryan for a Get Out The Vote event supporting my friend and conservative fighter, Texas Attorney General candidate @mayes_middleton.
Don’t forget, tomorrow is also the last day to vote early for the Tuesday, May 26th runoff.
Join me, Rep. @PaulDysonTX, and Rep. @WhartonForTexas this Friday, May 22nd, for a special Get Out The Vote event in Bryan for my friend and conservative fighter, Texas Attorney General candidate @mayes_middleton.
Hope to see everyone there!
A large portion of LNG exports already flows from Texas, and it’s accelerating now as new LNG terminals are coming online or under construction. I’m proud to see Texas play a leading role in establishing American energy dominance!
President Trump ended the Biden administration’s LNG export permit ban on day one.
Today, America is the largest producer and exporter of natural gas in the world, with LNG exports expected to double by the end of the decade.
A big storm system is rolling through Texas today and affecting many counties, including those in Senate District 5. Milam, Robertson, Limestone, and Williamson are under Enhanced Risk, and Bastrop, Brazos, Leon, Madison, Walker, San Jacinto, and Freestone are under Slight Risk.
Storms are expected to develop in the late afternoon and move eastward through the evening and overnight hours. Make sure to keep an eye on your local forecast as the storm develops.
Hey Texas! There’s a significant severe weather and flash flood threat for your Mother’s Day forecast.⚡️
Primary risks include damaging winds, large hail, rain, flooding, and possible tornadoes.
Have a plan, stay informed, and follow directions of local officials.
To all of the wonderful mothers and grandmothers across Texas, Happy Mother’s Day! I’m so grateful for the two incredible mothers in my life - my wife, Belinda, and my mom, Kaye. Thank you both for everything you do.
Branding as TexAM misleads students and families into thinking it's connected to our Aggies. On top of that, TexAM is advertising STEM programs while requiring 30% of its coursework to be Islamic Studies, all while operating illegally without a Certificate of Authority to call itself a university or to offer degrees in Texas.
Glad to see Texas A&M taking action to protect its name, and Governor Abbott directing the Higher Ed Coordinating Board to order TexAM to cease operations.
Officials with The Texas A&M University System have formally objected to the unauthorized use of the Texas A&M University name and trademarks by a Muslim education entity in North Texas that is branding itself as “TexAM University.”

Exactly right, this fraud has gone on way too long. I’m proud that strong steps are being taken to clean up SNAP and protect taxpayer dollars. Including here in Texas, where we banned SNAP from being used to purchase junk food.
In just ONE state, 14,000 individuals receiving SNAP benefits were driving LUXURY VEHICLES!
🚗 3 Bentleys
🚗 3 Ferraris
🚗 11 Lamborghinis
🚗 59 Maseratis
🚗 141 Porsches
🚗 244 Alfa Romeos
🚗 306 Land Rovers
🚗 2,098 Teslas
And this is just in ONE STATE. We need to defend our nutrition programs for those most in need, not for scammers gaming the system.
These individuals are taking advantage of the American taxpayer. And together with @VP’s Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, this ends NOW.
4.3M Americans have been moved off of SNAP — but more work to be done!
Today marks the 190th anniversary of the Battle of San Jacinto, the final battle of the Texas Revolution, when General Sam Houston led the Texan Army to victory in 18 minutes, securing independence from Mexico.
What an honor it is to serve in the Senate and walk past Henry McArdle’s powerful painting of that historic moment. It serves as a constant reminder of the courage and sacrifice that built Texas, and our duty as Texans to defend and protect the values that make Texas strong and prosperous.
