@JohnCornyn @WSJopinion It is not a smear to reveal misconduct on the part of a government official. It seems that the Republican Party has made a decisive turn towards excusing and rationalizing unethical & illegal behavior. I can't say it's a good thing, for the party or for the country.

@TheRickWilson I knew that the Republican Party had become alarmingly tolerant of mendacity, but this guy lied about all of his qualifications/reasons people might vote for him & is wanted for fraud in Brazil. He should be extradited to stand trial. The GOP is becoming the party of criminality.

It was accurate in 2012 and is even more accurate 10 yrs. later. The refusal of Republicans to deal with their problem led directly to Jan. 6 & this week's debacle.
