Raila Odinga was a true champion of democracy. A child of independence, he endured decades of struggle and sacrifice for the broader cause of freedom and self-governance in Kenya. Time and again, I personally saw him put the interests of his country ahead of his own ambitions. Like few other leaders anywhere, he was willing to choose the path of peaceful reconciliation without compromising his core values. Through his life, Raila Odinga set an example not just for Kenyans, but across Africa and around the world. I know he will be missed. Michelle and I send our deepest condolences to his family and to the people of Kenya.

Peter Kagwanja: I advocate for African solutions to African problems. It's these indigenous approaches that have shaped the peace and security framework of the African Union today. However, Sudan's situation has led to numerous external interventions, posing a challenge to this principle. The issue lies in "too many cooks spoil the broth," which ultimately harms Sudan, Africa, and Sudanese citizens. While there's a genuine humanitarian crisis, the intervenes are primarily motivated by their own interests rather than Sudan's welfare.

Nelson M Sechere: If Iran chooses to block 40% of the oil supply to parts of the world, the impact will be swift and widespread, affecting economies beyond just Kenya or Uganda. It's well-known that oil or energy is a key driver of any economy. If Kenya had its own sufficient oil reserves, it could reduce its dependence on imported oil. Additionally, if production costs decreased, living expenses would likely follow suit.
