This is the story of Shikha Singh, who got married in Delhi in 2020.

According to the story, she frequently argued with her husband and in-laws, often woke up late, and even filed dowry and harassment cases against her husband.

As the court case dragged on, her father's house was sold, and the family reportedly ended up on the streets.

The stress became so overwhelming that Shikha's father suffered a heart attack and was admitted to a government hospital, where his condition did not improve.

When her husband, Saurabh, learned about it, he stepped forward and got her father admitted to Medanta Hospital, one of Delhi's leading private hospitals. After treatment, her father recovered.

Yesterday was the court hearing. As soon as Shikha saw her husband, she tore up the divorce papers, hugged him, broke down in tears, and apologized.

Genetics is real, and most people can accept it — except when it comes to intelligence.

I grew up in Malibu, California, so there were kids in my schools whose parents were former NFL & NBA players. Those kids usually had more innate athletic ability than average and were better at any sport they tried; meanwhile kids who don’t have such innate talent could never become professional athletes even with the best coaches in the world.

Other parents were Hollywood actors and models; their kids grew up to be way better-looking than average. Nobody would question the reality of genetics in determining a child’s athletic ability and appearance.

So why is it controversial to say that intelligence is also (at least somewhat) an inherited trait?

Can we say that children need their mothers without immediately shifting the conversation to whether mothers will be bored?

Can we say that a struggling marriage should sometimes be endured for the sake of the children without immediately asking whether the wife feels fulfilled?

Can we ask what men need from women without first reassuring ourselves that women will benefit too?

The family was built on obligations flowing in all directions. Feminism taught us to see obligations to women as moral, and obligations from women as oppression.

Until that attitude changes, feminism remains undefeated.

I was listening to an expert on brainwashing, hypnotism, and algorithms talk, and one of the things he said that stuck with me is that you can get people to do just about anything under the right circumstances.

"I'd never kill someone!" Yes, you would if it were them or your daughter. "I'd never steal something!" Yes, you would if they stole from you first and you thought you could get away with it.

How do you get people to do evil things? You create an imaginary scenario where those evil deeds are justified and convince people it's real. Why do you think Democrats are always screaming that Republicans are Nazis, that there's a "trans genocide" happening, or that America is "racist" against black people? They're trying to create the conditions in people's minds that allow them to do things that would seem impermissible, radical, or even insane under normal circumstances.

It's not just the Democrats, either. It's hostile nations on social media, sociopathic influencers, and people and corporations with bad motivations of every sort. Never forget what Voltaire said: "Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities."
