I decided to reach out to an old friend in America who I stayed with for a few months about 20 years ago. We lost touch over the years and I kept meaning to reach out but never got around to it. Today I finally did and found out that he passed away two years ago....

I went to school the next day and told the teacher my arm hurt and they took me to hospital and called social services. I almost got taken in to care. I was maybe 6 or 7.

My dad died today and I don't know how to feel. He hasn't been in my life for most of it, and when he was he was a bit of a dick. Still, it's made me feel weird. I don't feel sad he's died, I feel sad that he was never bothered enough to be in my life 🤷‍♂️
