Well, that was a first.
I was on GB News talking about diversity, equity, and inclusion protocols helping us ensure that people are not discriminated against because of their age, disability, race, or gender.
When the presenter ran out of arguments, he dismissed the conversation with a sarcastic "Kumbaya," intending it as a put-down.
For the record, "Kumbaya" is not just a throwaway phrase. It's a song lyric derived from the Gullah expression "Come by here," and it's rooted in the African American spiritual tradition. The song is a plea for God's help in times of struggle. It gained wider recognition during the American folk revival of the 1950s and 60s.
So no, it's not a punchline—it's a prayer, one I am happy to pray.
“As Christians, we know what Scripture demands… to ‘remember those who are mistreated as if you were suffering.’ Our Afghan brothers and sisters in Christ are suffering. They face torture and death if sent back. Wouldn't sending them away now betray our Biblical values?”
This innovative article on the southern shift of Catholicism in @TheEconomist is based on a map that we created 20 years ago on the statistical center of gravity of Christianity. Nice graph with our data as well. Still relevant today! https://t.co/kVOFJpBtzl
We at FYF are saddened but not surprised by the attack by an #ISIS#Daesh adherent against #Iraq#Christian civilians during their Akitu festival. More needs to be done to fight extremist ideology of hatred. We are 100% in solidarity with our Iraqi Christian friend and allies.
"Currently, with the stoppage of both the asylum process and the refugee resettlement program, Christians no longer have the option of a safe place in the United States."
A harsh truth that too few Christians seem to realize. Grateful to Ryan Brown & @OpenDoors for speaking out
In one country American aid is the equivalent of almost 350% of government health spending. These are the places most vulnerable to Donald Trump’s cuts https://t.co/tDYPcNIWpK
A group of evangelical Christian orgs held a prayer vigil on Capitol Hill opposing recent sweeping cuts to foreign aid by the Trump admin.
@EugeneCho of @Bread4TheWorld called the sudden gutting of life-saving aid "a policy failure… and a moral failure."

True activists do the work even when no one is watching or encouraging.
Like roots fortifying a tree before it breaks through the earth, some of the most pivotal advocacy happens behind closed doors—strategic, unseen, yet profoundly powerful.
Thankful for the opportunity to join @CBNNews' Faith Nation today to discuss refugee & immigration policy changes in the new presidential administration https://t.co/4ngoNUWuZJ
