Comrade @lewis_ngunyi was arraigned at the Nanyuki Law Courts today over an application by @DCI_Kenya to detain him for 15 days. The @LawSocietyofKe Mt. Kenya Branch chair @joeburia led the LSK Nanyuki chapter team which represented Lewis and secured his release on cash bail of 20,000/=.

His advocate, Rogers, who was assulted by police yesterday attended the police station to lodge a formal complaint over the assault. He was unfortunately kept unattended under the pretext of waiting for the OCS who never showed up, despite attempts of intervention by council member @gloria_kimani. Evidently, the @NPSOfficial_KE are unwilling to institute disciplinary action against unruly officers. We call on @IPOA_KE to step up and take decisive action in line with their mandate.

We have confirmation that two comrades have been dumped at unknown locations after their abductions.

Joshua Okayo @okayojoshua was dumped somewhere in Murang’a after being abducted in Rongai on Wednesday.

Regis Wanjala who was abducted on the same day was also found dumped in a tea plantation in Ruiru.

The two are safe but currently receiving medical attention and are still shaken up from the ordeal. We shall find recourse for these unfortunate actions of police.

UPDATE: Friends and family of musician Kasmuel Mcoure 'Kaskazini' who rose to prominence during anti-Finance Bill protests in Nairobi say that his whereabouts remain unknown contrary to earlier reports he was released. His loved ones suspect he was among those abducted by a rogue segment of Kenyan police.
