Many years ago I found a comic called Transmetropolitan in a bargain bin & it radically changed how I viewed stories.

In 1997 it predicted:

- 3D-printers
- Viral Internet culture before the internet
- Attention-collapsed, doomscrolling public

- Tech-addicted everything (even the furniture)
- A bombastic strongman vs. a smiling technocrat for president
- Normalized political corruption
- Fake causes distracting from the good ones
- Custom designer drugs
- Mega-wealth

Despite how gross Warren Ellis is as a person, he basically live-tweeted 2020s society in 1997. Worth a read for inspiration.
