@drumcorpsaf I’m gonna be honest, I think Crown placed too high. Cavaliers had the better show, in my opinion.

I loved the @Bluecoats trumpet solo. Too often trumpet solos are about playing the highest not possible. I loved the exploration of the lower register of the instrument and the rich color it provided to the show.

Really enjoyed the show tonight. This is my strong opinion; Cavaliers should not be losing to Crown. Crown’s brass only plays forte/fortissimo or they aren’t playing at all. Cavaliers has the musical nuisance and the sensitivity.

I really enjoyed the trumpet/snare feature in @TheBlueDevils show. It’s musical moments like that that make a show in my opinion.

The thematic material used through @TheCavaliers show is so powerful. The bolero works so well. Plus, the dynamic contrast is so beautiful. You don’t have to play loud the whole time. Cavaliers do an awesome job of contrast.

I really love @CarolinaCrown’s use of unique of timbre within their percussion with the timpani and the waterphone.

So impressed with Spirit of Atlanta. Their horn line is on fire. One of the most entertaining shows I’ve seen in a LONG time.

@TheAcademyDBC putting a company front in their opener is so gutsy, I love it! Plus, the syncopation in their vocal feature was AWESOME! I was very impressed.
