In 2012 we might have had margins on our side but the margins we had, we earned through pure will and hunger. We played Pep's best Barça side with the version of Lionel Messi that scored 91 goals in a calender year in the semis. We played majority of the game at Camp Nou with 10 men!

In the final we played peak Heynckes Bayern AT Allianz Arena and won.

In 2021 we played the spanish champions Atletico Madrid in the round of 16, Real Madrid in the semis and english champions Man City in the final. No one gave us any chance in either of those ties.

We won those titles not because of luck, but because we are winners. Because we're european royalty.

I have watched Spurs v Chelsea 3 times already and I'm still fascinated by our performance, tactically. The tactics and application was top.

While watching live, I said the amount of tactically input that went into this performance was mind-blowing. I was wondering how much time in training it took them to take that all in before the game. We did things we don't do regularly or haven't done before.

Imagine how you will feel if you were Thomas Frank. You will feel helpless. Maresca is so good. Every year, this team will be better under him, in terms of tactically understanding and delivery. It doesn't mean that he won't mess up here and there but he's too smart and flexible not to know that and make necessary adjustments.

If we give him time, he could become of the best Chelsea managers ever. I don't say this lightly but it shows how much I trust and believe in him.

Ouattara was still in an offside position when the play became active since the ball came off Ajer. He then makes an attempt to clear the ball which impacts Reece James

So you genuinely don’t believe Chelsea are in a better place than 12 months ago? Performances under Maresca have improved massively, mentality has improved and the squad has definitely improved. Remember you said we wouldn’t get top four last season and we did. You didn’t have us battering PSG like we did. That deserves a lot of credit and to me is a clear indication Chelsea are heading in the right direction. As for transfers, Gittens for Madueke is the only transfer this summer in which I understand what you mean, like for like. Bringing in Delap, Pedro, Hato, Estevao that argument doesn’t work for because they’ve actively improved the squad in positions we needed & have given us strength in depth ahead of CL football.
