WHY IS THE SOREN GOVERNMENT RESISTING A CBI PROBE? WHY ISN'T RAHUL GANDHI DEMANDING ONE?
For protesting students, there is now one overriding demand: CBI PROBE.
But the Hemant Soren government is not yielding because:
+ CID is moving fast so the state government says transferring the case could disrupt the probe.
+ Past CBI probes into Jharkhand paper leaks have allegedly been unsatisfactory.
But some see a possible political dimension.
Sources speaking to @Arunima24
say:
1. The CID is reportedly examining whether awarding a JPSC examination contract to TSR Data Processing Pvt Ltd (TDPL), a Lucknow-based vendor reportedly blacklisted by JSSC over examination irregularities and cheating concerns, involved a possible quid pro quo. That allegation remains under investigation.
2. The Soren government is willing to cancel JPSC, but not CGL, arguing that the CGL exam was conducted pursuant to Supreme Court directions.
In 2024, during an ED probe into alleged land and illegal-mining activities in Sahibganj, searches at architect Vinod Singh’s premises reportedly led to the recovery of CGL aspirants’ admit cards.
3. The ED also placed WhatsApp conversations between Singh and Hemant Soren before the court in the context of their relationship.
4. JPSC chairman L Khiangte, a former Chief Secretary, now arrested has been described by Soren’s critics as being close to the CM.
NONE OF THIS ESTABLISHES WRONGDOING BY SOREN OR THE CMO.
But students ask:
IS THE GOVERNMENT RESISTING A CBI PROBE BECAUSE IT FEARS WHERE THE PAPER-LEAK TRAIL COULD LEAD?
Dozens of journalists covered the student protest in BJP ruled Delhi with total freedom, while in Opposition ruled Jharkhand @AmanChopra_ is picked up by cops, questioned, and slapped with an FIR.
No outrage. Because Democracy is alive and so is Press Freedom under the Congress.

This must be a national movement. Hon PM @narendramodi had started the Swachh Bharat movement a decade ago and it is a matter of civic shame that we as a people failed to act. In Bengaluru we are focused on a clean city drive. But it has to be sustained action through cleaner habits.
Take a little time off to applaud a great 74 shots rally & a fantastic win by PV Sindhu at the Japan Open 🏸

Seven years ago, on this day, Articles 370 and 35(A) became history, marking a decisive new chapter in the journey of Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh.
Since then, the lives of the people of J&K and Ladakh have witnessed wide-ranging transformation. Infrastructure has expanded, opportunities in areas such as education, healthcare, entrepreneurship and sports have grown. Be it the women or the marginalised communities, those who were denied their basic constitutional rights for decades have been empowered thanks to the full application of the Constitution of India.
5th August this year assumes even greater significance as this is the year our nation commemorates the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee. His lifelong commitment to national unity continues to inspire generations. What he envisioned decades ago found historic fulfilment on 5th August 2019.
We reaffirm our commitment to the progress of Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh and to ensure that every citizen has the opportunity to dream big, achieve and contribute to the making of a Viksit Bharat.
#Article370Abrogation
A vital step towards clean energy, rural prosperity and realising our collective dream of an Atmanirbhar Bharat!
The Cabinet has approved GOBARdhan Scheme, which will give a major boost to Compressed Biogas, with the aim of increasing domestic CBG production nearly ten-fold. The scheme will create a strong and predictable ecosystem for investment and innovation.
It will benefit our farmers, cooperatives, MSMEs, women entrepreneurs and rural enterprises while strengthening energy security, reducing dependence on imported fossil fuels and promoting scientific waste management.
