#BREAKING Carnatic Musician TM Krishna moves #SupremeCourt challenging the Centre's circular mandating the singing of six stanzas of Vande Mataram and the recent amendment giving Vande Mataram the same status as the National Anthem.

Krishna states that four stanzas of Vande Mataram expressly invoke devotion to Hindu deities, and mandating the singing of those portions violates the secular character of the nation.

The amendment to cover Vande Mataram under the Prevention of Insults to the National Honour Act is arbitrary and violates personal liberty, and furthers a "majoritarian religious message", @tmkrishna contends.

The ECI must explain why people in Delhi are being sent notices for “discrepancies” which have NOTHING to do with their eligibility for being a voter. Notices are being sent-
- if voter has 5 or more siblings
- ⁠if age gap between voter and grandparents is less than 40 years
- if the age gap between voter and parents is less than 15 years
- ⁠if age gap between voter and sibling is less than 9 months

What bearing do these have with the right to vote?
A completely arbitrary and illogical exercise is becoming a means to harass and disenfranchise people.

There could hardly be a more powerful illustration of the absurdity of the SIR process.

At least 50 prominent Indians - politicians, senior bureaucrats, businessmen, filmmakers, sportspersons and academics - have reportedly been served notices over issues ranging from:

• Age discrepancies involving parents
• Family details not mapped
• Mismatch in names
• Discrepancies in submitted details
• Records not mapped with the previous SIR
• “Logical discrepancies”

If people who are educated, documented and among the most connected citizens in the country can find themselves flagged over such discrepancies, imagine what this process means for an ordinary Indian - particularly a poor, rural, elderly or less-educated voter with limited documentation, limited digital access and no easy avenue to navigate bureaucratic procedures.

The government may parade these prominent names and say: “See, notices are being issued to everyone and the process is perfectly normal. Follow the ‘due process’ and get enrolled in the electoral roll.”

But that misses the point completely.

These 50 people are not the ones we should worry about. They have lawyers, offices, contacts and the ability to make a phone call and get an official to look into their case.

The real question is: what happens to the crores of ordinary Indians who cannot make that phone call?

If the forthcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly election is not conducted using traditional ballot papers and instead proceeds through the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), then the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) victory will be virtually assured and inevitable. Following the completion of the 2026 upcoming Lok Sabha election, there are no further elections scheduled to take place anywhere across India in the foreseeable future. Given this situation, all opposition political parties and coalitions should seriously consider and ultimately decide to boycott the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly election as a matter of principle. Either the practice of conducting elections through EVM-based technology should be completely cancelled and discontinued, or alternatively, all future elections should be conducted exclusively and only through the traditional method of ballot papers to ensure transparency and public confidence. 13.8 करोड़ मतदाता सूची से बाहर हुए - जो देश के 94.78 करोड़ वोटरों का करीब 15% है

• पर कमाल तो दिल्ली में हो रहा है जहाँ चुनाव आयोग ने लगभग 1/3 वोटरों के नाम ही काट दिए हैं

• लेकिन यहाँ भी वोटरों में भेदभाव किया जा रहा है - दिल्ली में कुछ VIPs भी SIR की चपेट में आ गए - BJP के लालकृष्ण आडवाणी, विदेश मंत्री जयशंकर, दिल्ली के उपराज्यपाल (LG), बांसुरी स्वराज, अरविंद पनगरिया जैस वीके लोगों को भी SIR का नोटिस दिया गया है

• कमाल क��� बात यह है कि आम आदमी का तो वोट आँख बंद करके काटा जा रहा है लेकिन चुनाव आयोग ख़ास लोगों के लिए press release जारी कर के “VIP/marked electors” की बात कर रहा है

👉👉इस देश के संविधान में One Person, One Vote का सिद्धांत है - तो VIP वोट कीमती और आम वोट बेकार कैसे हो सकता है?

The Jamui horror is a tight slap on each single value enshrined in the constitution.

The incident is a warning of a deeper social crisis. When young girls are publicly humiliated and assaulted, we must ask what kind of toxicity and masculinity we are normalising. Bihar needs a persistent social movement - at least continuously for a decade.

The Bhojpuri entertainment ecosystem, where figures like Nirahua, Pawan Singh, Manoj Tiwari and Ravi Kishan have had enormous influence, must introspect on the persistent sexualisation and objectification of women. Political power brings cultural responsibility too. Bihar’s daughters dont deserve moral policing and misogyny.

The video from Jamui, Bihar is deeply disturbing.

Two Class 10 students were stopped on a road. Harassed. Humiliated. Molested. A young girl, hands folded, begged to be let go while goons groped her and dragged her away.

Who gave these men the right to behave like this? This is not "culture." It is patriarchy: the belief that any man can police a girl's body, her movement, her choices.

When control is mistaken for culture, and such attitudes are normalised by Andhbhakts, mobs start believing they are the law.

Every individual in that video must be identified and prosecuted under POCSO, and justice must be swift. And if the incident happened on September 19th, why are the culprits not behind bars yet?

And the Bihar government must answer why a girl is not safe on a public road at 7 pm?

10वीं क्लास के एक छात्र और छात्रा को रास्ते में जबरदस्ती रोक लिया गया। उन्हें प्रताड़ित किया गया, अपमानित किया गया और छात्रा क�� साथ उत्पीड़न किया गया। बच्ची हाथ जोड़कर उसे जाने देने की विनती करती रही, मगर गुंडे उसे गलत तरीके से छूते और खींचतान करते रहे।

इन लोगों को ऐसी बदतमीज़ी करने का हक किसने दिया? यह "संस्कृति" नहीं है, यह patriarchy है: ये सोच कि किसी भी पुरुष का किसी लड़की के शरीर, उसके आने-जाने और उसकी पसंद-नापसंद पर नियंत्रण है।

जब नियंत्रण को ही संस्कृति मान कर 'अंधभक्त' ऐसी सोच को सामान्य ठहराते हैं, तो भीड़ को लगने लग���ा है कि वही कानून है।

उस वीडियो में दिख रहे हर व्यक्ति की पहचान होनी चाहिए और उन अपराधियों पर POCSO के तहत मुकदमा चलाकर उन्हें जल्द से जल्द सजा मिलनी चाहिए। और अगर ये घटना 19 सितंबर की है तो गुनहगार अब तक सलाखों के पीछे क्यों नहीं हैं?

और बिहार सरकार जवाब दे कि शाम 7 बजे कोई लड़की राज्य की सड़कों पर सुरक्षित क्यों नहीं है?
