@BaronDestructo I remember enjoying the Dorsai books that I read, but that was a long time ago. I think I was 13 or 14 at the time, and I had trouble acquiring them, not to mention reading them in the proper order.
The largest nuclear bomb in outer space exploded 64 yrs ago today.
Starfish Prime was a 1.4 megaton thermonuclear warhead, detonated at the altitude the Space Station now orbits. It created man-made radiation belts that wrecked many satellites & lasted 5+ years.
A year after the test the USA & USSR signed the Partial Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, leading to the global 1967 Outer Space Treaty.

We went to our first @McKChupacabras match last Saturday, July 4th. We had a great time! I was surprised by the attendance… there was basically a full house… and on a holiday! It won’t be our last match, for sure.
@BaronDestructo Very interesting…. I have this book, but three of your recommendations don’t seem to be in it! (And they looked pretty interesting, btw. Great cover art!) I’ll have to investigate. (And maybe buy some more Keith Laumer books.)
In an era where student athletes often change institutions, these two young men chose a different path. They stayed loyal and committed!!
Their decision has cemented their names in Mustang history. Their legacy is built on commitment, perseverance, and pride. #MustangLegacy26
In 2020, electrician John Kinney arrived at 72-year-old Gloria Scott's home in Woburn, Massachusetts, for what seemed like a simple job : fixing a broken light.
But once inside, he realized the light was the least of her problems.
Gloria lived alone in a badly deteriorating house. There were serious electrical and plumbing issues, damaged ceilings, broken windows and problems with running water. Raccoons had even been getting inside. She simply couldn't afford the repairs her home desperately needed.
John completed the electrical job, went home... and couldn't stop thinking about her.
So he came back.
He began repairing Gloria's house without charging her, then reached out to friends and people in the community for help. What happened next was extraordinary.
Electricians, plumbers, carpenters and complete strangers showed up. Others donated materials, food and supplies. Together, they repaired the plumbing and electrical systems, fixed walls and ceilings, replaced windows and worked on the roof, porch and backyard.
The group became known as “Gloria's Gladiators.”
It all started with one broken light and one electrician who decided that walking away wasn't an option.
The Ranger Division title race is going down to the wire. 😅
The Chupacabras, Denton, and Texoma remain alive - but only one can claim the crown and Southern Conference playoff spot.
We broke down the permutations and what each team needs.

@Jules33355@BaronDestructo By the way, if you get a reply or comment from @euphoniusmuse, that’s me. I think I’m going to start using that more often for my “artsy” and literary side.
@Jules33355@BaronDestructo I think I’ll start keeping a checklist on my phone, and as I read them over the next few years I’ll check them off the list. I love all these vintage Sci-Fi books. I love some of the new stuff. And there are books that I feel that I *should* read. You know what I mean!
@Jules33355@BaronDestructo Wow! Apologies. I completely lost track of your reply. I just saw it and I just downloaded Earth’s Bliss (I’m a Kindle guy).

3033 Mockingbird LN Dallas TX
Distance to Weber:
.1 miles if that (walking distance)
SMU decor:
Yes! Walking history museum of SMU (pre-death penalty heavy) would love to see some modernization efforts!
Time from order to receiving food:
6 mins flat
Cost:
$10.44 ($9.65+ tax)
Experience: walking distance from Weber, first and foremost the smell of the grill 🔥 SMU memories line the walls, solid customer service. Food came out in a good time, fresh grilled burger (you can see the grill marks on the burger), not a smash burger!! Tasty burger, well seasoned you can taste the difference of being cooked on the open flame. Main knock... and I think we can see this one coming, the cold shredded cheese on top. They refuse to melt the cheese don’t even ask 😅 I’m not 100% why they take this stance, maybe one day I’ll get an answer. Good burger, good amount of SMU memorabilia, decent price point, in the future on the half price after 5pm on Tuesday’s that is the move.
Guest Eater Comments:
The burger was cooked a medium temperature which brought out the flavor of the meat and condiments, but sprinkled cheddar cheese is interesting to say the least, no my preference but it’ll do. The restaurant is decorated with old school SMU and Highland Park memorabilia marketing itself a staple of the community. Solid experience, solid burger, and a solid location. 3.75/5
