Mental Health Awareness Week (May 5 - 11)
Today, we hear from Training Officer Noel, who has served for seven years. Devon reminds us of a vital truth: you donβt have to be in crisis to ask for help.
Whether itβs opening up to someone you trust or reaching out to a professional, talking about mental health is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Every conversation helps break the stigma. Every voice makes a difference.
Mental health matters. Always.

Today, we hear from Fire Chief Chris Wood. With ten years of service, Chris reminds us that asking for help is okay. Whether itβs confiding in someone you trust or seeking professional support, you donβt need to be in crisis to talk to someone.

ππ₯ Fire Prevention Week may be over, but the importance of fire safety never fades!
This year, we had the privilege of visiting 4 schools and educating around 1,000 students about fire safety. We also hosted an open house that welcomed about 200 guests!
A big thank you to everyone who participated and learned with us. Remember, the theme "Smoke Alarms: Make Them Work For You" is crucial! Ensure your smoke alarms are working by testing them monthly, change the batteries twice a year, and replace smoke alarms that are 10 years or older.
Your safety is our priority! Letβs keep the conversation going and stay fire-safe year-round!
#FirePreventionWeek #SmokeAlarms #FireSafetyEducation
On Saturday, September 28th, our dedicated team hit the streets for our annual door-to-door smoke alarm campaign as part of 'Test Your Smoke Alarm Day'! This provincial initiative aims to educate everyone on the importance of maintaining working smoke alarms in homes.
We visited 155 homes and checked 51 of them for working smoke alarms. Shockingly, only 50% met the Ontario Fire Code requirements! Thanks to our teamβs efforts, we installed 34 smoke and CO alarms in 25 homes, providing life-saving devices to our community.
A huge shoutout to TBaytel for their incredible support! They purchased 122 smoke and CO alarms, making this initiative possible.
