@TheBabylonBee Instead of flying them to Martha's Vineyard let's send them to Ukraine. They need a lot of military aged males to replace the ones killed in their war. Two problems solved.
What the Trump accounts need, is a way to pay into each kid’s Trump account easily and directly.
If a neighbor kid mows my lawn, I should be able to pay into his Trump account.
Let Godparents and Grandparents deposit directly on birthdays without going through parents etc.
@Astro_Clay@tomabrahams Update: I took you up on the suggestion and WOW! Finished book 1 over the holiday weekend poolside and into book 2 now. Thank you again for the amazing suggestion!
Update - lady is slowly growing concerned that she's cheering for too many white men from Belgium especially because a Black American scored and she didn'trealize how diverse the US team is.
I was going to leave but now I'm enjoying this development.
You can't make it up.
The odd thing is Americans don’t know about doing this, but when they hear about it they are puzzled because of course we would help our friends. It would never occur to us not to.
My father cried.
I had never seen it. Not once in my life.
70 years old. Post-war generation. He hated America with everything he had.
60 years. Not one kind word. Not one.
Then March 2011 came.
He sat in front of the TV. Every day. Silent. Fists on his knees.
Your Marines digging black mud with their bare hands for Japanese strangers.
Your 19-year-old sailors sleeping on cold steel floors so our grandmothers could have beds.
Your carrier sailing INTO the radiation while the whole world ran out.
He watched all of it. And said nothing.
Then one night I passed his room and I froze.
Behind that door, my father, the strongest and most stubborn man I ever knew, was sobbing like a child.
I couldn't move. I just stood there in the dark hallway, listening, crying with him.
Then he said it. One sentence. It tore 60 years apart:
"I was wrong about them."
Do you understand what that took?
A lifetime of hatred. Gone.
Destroyed by soldiers carrying soup to strangers.
America, you didn't just save our towns.
You reached inside my father's chest and healed a wound he swore would never close.
He passed away believing in you.
Happy 250th. 🇺🇸🇯🇵
An old man who hated you died loving you. My father.
@OneFineJay It's frozen spinach...just buy some fresh spinach, give it a quick wash and chop and pack it up yourself - you'd get 8 packages this size for $1-2.
@bluelivesmtr Was this a local or a federal charge? If not federal, this misjustice can be rectified when he is released - the Feds can still charge him with a whole host of crimes involving interfering with the postal service that could net him life in prison.
CNN’s Dana Bash: “It was July 4, and the Reflecting Pool was closed.”
Interior Secretary Doug Burgum: “It was closed because it's surrounded by fireworks. It's closed every year on the Fourth of July.”
Dana Bash: “But it was closed prior to that in order to fix the Reflecting Pool.”
Doug Burgum: “No, it was closed because the largest fireworks display in the country was set up, and it lines either side of the Reflecting Pool. You can't have people around fireworks when they're being set up.”
“Now that the fireworks will come down, the fence will come down. The fence was there because of the fireworks.”
NUKED!
