🚨 The journalist: “What do you think about Lamine Yamal’s actions yesterday during FC Barcelona’s league title celebrations, and should a player avoid interfering in matters unrelated to football?”
Pep Guardiola: “And should you also avoid interfering in things that are not your specialty? You are here to ask me about tomorrow’s match against Crystal Palace F.C..
Despite that, I will answer your question..... A football player is a role model followed by millions, and his opinion is influential, so he should express his opinion when necessary.
What would you do if you found your wife and children under the rubble of homes like them there? Would you come here to the press conference to talk about a player wearing a shirt and running after a ball?? Of course not!!
You do not choose the topics we want to talk about, so those are things outside your specialty. Lamine’s stance is something he should be proud of — he has now become the talk of the world.”
China has announced that it will be involved in “establishing a new post-war regional architecture.”
Yesterday on @F24Debate@France24_en, I explained how China is already involved in backchannel efforts for deescalation as the guarantor of the Iran-Saudi detente:

So today, at the Security Council, High Representative Kaja Kallas has lamented the gravest violation and breakdown of international law since the Second World War, evident, I quote "in today’s two pre-eminent global crises — Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and the war in the Middle East."
Quick quantitative analysis of her speech:
Mention of Russia: 11
Mention of Israel: 0
Mention of the USA: 0
Mention of Iran: 1
Her unwillingness, her deliberate failure, to mention the two actors (in addition to Russia) responsible for the greatest violations of international law, is not just coward. It is criminal. It explains the repeated violations of international law, the breakdown of the UN Charter, the global regime of impunity.
The failure is counted in acts of aggressions, in a genocide, in deliberate or disproportionate or indiscriminate attacks against civilians, in thousands of civilians deaths, including children, in unlawful occupation and de facto annexation.
The double standards inherent in Ms. Kallas speech are destroying international law.

Communion between Christians and Muslims takes shape under the mantle of Our Lady of Africa. Here, in #Algeria, the maternal love of Lalla Meryem gathers everyone as children, within our rich diversity, in our shared aspiration for dignity, love, justice, and peace. In a world where division and wars sow pain and death, living in unity and peace is a compelling sign. #ApostolicJourney
The Pope's trip to Algeria will include two stops: the capital, Algiers, and Annaba, the city of Saint Augustine. The fourth century thinker is a key figure in the pope's life and in the meaning given to this unprecedented visit

God does not bless any conflict. Anyone who is a disciple of Christ, the Prince of Peace, is never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs. Military action will not create space for freedom or times of #Peace, which comes only from the patient promotion of coexistence and dialogue among peoples.
My relative recently attended a Friday prayer where the Imam went off on an anti-Shia rant. He walked out & so did several others. Since then, the Imam hasn't gone on a similar tirade. This is the kind of energy we need from Sunnis now. We must reject sectarianism everywhere.
