A fantastic @IAIarchaeo conference at the weekend. Delighted to hear Dr Lorna O'Donnell present our work on the various environmental analyses conducted on samples from the Drumclay Crannog excavations.

The upr ‘Cork’ lunula is one of two from ‘near Midelton’, the other now in Detroit and a perfect example of how a hoard, poorly recorded, moved and dispersed through the hands of collectors in C19th, ending up in different museums and different countries. More in PRIA 2006.
Last month we were out onsite getting some (pretty epic!) UAV footage of Lough Kinale. This is part of an ongoing project with @NMIreland on the Lough Kinale Book Shrine.
Spot the crannog!
During some fieldwork around Lough Kinale, I got to stop off at the Mesolithic site of Derragh, for a quick look of the site 20 years after its excavation.

I was absolutely delighted to be part of the lineup for the @NationalMons#TracesNMS conference on Saturday! A fantastic range of papers demonstrating the huge variety and scale of archaeological traces that help us to understand our past @Discprog@Archaeology_Irl
The farmer is 'astonished' with his 'discovery' of the bronze axes..........unlike the archaeologist who would be have been 'baffled' after 'stumbling' upon them 🙄🤣!

The impressive 26m tall gilded statue of Migjid Janraisig at the buddist temple at Gandan monastery. The statue is a copy of the original destroyed by the communists in the 20s. It's a really amazing place to visit.
