This Canadian girl just said what millions are thinking but are too afraid to say out loud.

“Can somebody please tell me how we’re still calling Canada a free country?”

Then she laid out the receipts:

- We can’t access certain news channels without the government or platforms getting in the way.
- We can’t even pray in peace without someone trying to shut it down.
- Don’t fill out the census? Get fined.
- Someone breaks into your house? You can’t defend yourself properly — you can’t even hurt them without risking jail.
- We can’t own guns to protect our families.
- The government now decides what your kids can see on social media — not you.
- And we don’t even get to decide what goes into our own bodies… or our babies’.

This isn’t freedom.
This is a managed population.

Year after year, the Liberals chipped away at it — one “reasonable” restriction at a time — until regular Canadians started asking the question this woman is asking.

Mark Carney and the people running this country didn’t inherit a free nation.
They inherited one they could control.

And they’ve been very busy.

The Great Scam

After what @GadSaad posted yesterday, something I had no idea existed... an "Exit Tax" I did some digging.
This is what I found.

Canada's departure tax is one of the biggest scam taxes on the books. Apparently when you leave the country, the government treats you as if you sold every investment you own, even if you sold nothing.

You get hit with a tax bill on money you never touched, never withdrew, never spent. They literally invented a fake sale to justify taking your money.

Here's what makes it even worse. The stocks they're taxing? Those are foreign companies. Apple, Samsung, whatever you hold, those grew because of what those businesses did in their own countries, their own markets, with their own workers.

Canada had absolutely nothing to do with it. Zero. But they still want a cut just because you happened to live here while you owned them. They did nothing and still want to be paid like they did.

And before 1996 this didn't even exist the way it does now. Chrétien's government expanded it that year and buried it in section 128.1(4)(b) of the Income Tax Act like they hoped nobody would notice. Italy doesn't do this. Portugal doesn't. Belgium, Switzerland, the UK, none of them pull this shit.

You paid income tax every year. You paid sales tax. Property tax. You held up your end of the deal the whole damn time. And when you decide to go live somewhere else, they hit you with a bill for money that was never real to begin with.

The Liberal Chair of the health committee, Sukh Dhaliwal, just cancelled our last scheduled health committee meeting before summer.

In all my years as an MP, I have never seen committee powers abused like this for months to block accountability.

Yesterday, he suspended the meeting while the cameras were turned off, blocking emergency committee meetings from being held in public over the summer.

Now, he has cancelled the next meeting entirely to silence the opposition.

The Chair is supposed to be impartial.

He is not supposed to use his power to shut down committee work, silence MPs, and protect the Health Minister from accountability.

Canadians deserve to know why $300 MILLION was spent on the failed PrescribeIT program and where the money went.

Conservatives were committed to working through the summer to get answers, but the Liberals are shutting the committee down.

Call them and ask why they are abusing their power to block an investigation into PrescribeIT.

Government agents at your door? When 'no' isn't enough

@StatCan_eng has recruited staff to go door-to-door to compel discerning Canadians to complete the 5-year Canadian census, but many refuseniks are pushing back against the intrusive demands.

Canadians are pushing back against intrusive, mandatory census demands amid privacy concerns, revealing how growing distrust of government and tensions over compelled data collection clash with pushy enforcement tactics.

When a Statistics Canada enumerator arrived unannounced at my property, the message was clear: participate in the mandatory census or face consequences. A calm response of “I’d prefer not to” is apparently not good enough, and the agent enumerator made it clear that there would be a follow-up.

By way of background, this census is conducted every five years, requiring detailed household information, including names, birthdays, residents, and language preferences. Households receive either the short or the long-form version, the latter of which probes quite deeply into health, sexual orientation, gender identity, commuting, and daily activities.

With 32,000 temporary staff hired for the 2026 cycle, enforcement appears to have intensified alongside refusals, including door-to-door visits, follow-up notices, text messages and phone calls.

In the interaction, the agent stated there is a “legal obligation” and offered to complete the form on the spot or online. The agent confirmed that the census is not anonymous and referenced the Statistics Act.

Lawyer Daniel Freiheit broke down surface-level obligations and some options available to refusing Canadians.

Freiheit explained the penalties have softened: “You have to answer these questions. You have to answer them honestly, truthfully. And if you don’t, it’s no longer jail. It’s a $500 fine. And if you don’t pay the fine, you don’t go to jail either.”

On verification, he advised: “One lawful excuse is verifying the identity of this person… I’d like to see your driver’s license, photo ID, government photo ID… Second, there’s also an oath that each enumerator… has to swear.”

He noted potential Charter arguments: “There is a charter right to free speech… you don’t have to speak just because somebody tells you to speak… especially the new ones that don’t have a precedent yet.”

Historical legal precedents do show low risk, albeit the outcomes are mixed.

In 2013, 89-year-old WWII veteran Audrey Tobias refused due to U.S. contractor involvement and was acquitted; the judge criticized the government for targeting a “model citizen.” In 2014, 79-year-old Janet Churnin was found guilty on similar grounds but received a conditional discharge and community service; no fine or jail.

Statistics Canada rarely pursues court action despite the acclaimed legal framework touted by the enumerator.

Freiheit and others note that while basic population data aids planning, aggressive tactics further erode trust in Canada’s federal Liberals. This is especially true given that Statistics Canada monetizes data through custom sales to businesses, to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars per year.

In an era of economic pressure and heightened privacy awareness, many Canadians question the balance between civic duty and personal boundaries. As the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (@JCCFCanada) launches a judicial review of certain invasive aspects of the long-form census on Charter grounds, it begs the question: At what point does “civic duty” become state coercion? And how much of your private life are you willing to surrender before you say “enough is enough”?

Oblige les fournisseurs d’accès Internet à conserver les métadonnées pendant un an, facilite l’accès à vos données par la police et le SCRS et permet au ministre d’imposer des droits d’accès (des portes dérobées déguisées). Surveillance de masse de vos communications numériques sans mandat. Votre vie en ligne devient totalement transparente pour l'État.

- Projet de loi C-34 (Loi sur la sécurité numérique) :

Ce projet de loi crée une puissante Commission gouvernementale de la sécurité numérique qui dictera aux plateformes, aux chatbots et aux services en ligne ce qu'ils doivent censurer, comment vérifier l'âge des utilisateurs et comment se protéger contre les contenus préjudiciables. Contrôle d'âge obligatoire, plans de sécurité imposés, amendes colossales et pouvoir discrétionnaire étendu pour décider de ce qui est acceptable. Une censure centralisée au nom de la protection des enfants. Ensemble, ces trois projets de loi transforment le Canada en un État de surveillance et de censure généralisée.

Vous ne pourrez plus parler, partager ni même penser librement sans risquer d'être signalé, surveillé ou poursuivi. Les voix dissidentes, les critiques de l'immigration, les débats religieux, les opinions controversées, tout devient risqué.
