@RedWavePress The ID is not the issue. Obtaining a passport or birth certificate in time to vote in the primaries and general election in 2026 is the issue. For someone who does not have either of those things, it takes a long time to get one. That is the issue.

@EricLDaugh If I have photo id and don’t have a passport or birth certificate could I vote in the midterm elections? The answer is NO! I would need to have a passport or birth certificate as well. It takes a while to get that. Maybe the bill should go into effect in 2027.

@SenHydeSmith Is the ID really the issue? The real issue is the proof of citizenship that could take a long time to obtain if someone does not have one. Passports are expensive and take weeks to get. Birth certificates take a long time to get as well.
