The reality for Indian investors is death by a thousand cuts. Multilevel taxation (STT,GST,StampDuty) eats into margins on the way in and out, and then high Capital Gains Tax takes another massive chunk. Hard to build a retail equity culture with these kinds of friction points.

@Trader_souradep Well Said, The compliance burden for NRIs is becoming a massive bottleneck. When you have automatic TDS on Non-PIS accounts and then have to chase tax experts just to claim refunds, the friction outweighs the friction-less $1 trades abroad. Capital goes where it’s treated best.
