@EddieComeaux@drpepperangel@UCLALawReview@DrUJayakumar I've learnt that 71% of whites make up the athletics across Ivy League schools. This proves that diversity is lacking as well as the various enthnicities are all lacking in sports.
@EddieComeaux@drpepperangel@UCLALawReview@DrUJayakumar Reading through many races I've learned that different races are entitled to the chances they get whether or not they are successful in athletics sports or not. For example, only 16% of Asians at Harvard compete in NCAA Division teams.
@littlebunnyw@KatryaLy#ucr50@TA_ED50 Hi Lizeth, i do agree with everything you've mentioned! Equality and Equity are both underrated in college sports. I feel like this is very ancestral and many changes are needed but only if faculty members are serious for a change.
There are always changes happening in colleges but something's stay the same even after noticing it. Diversity seems to be missing in athletic. Women's are still not being treated equally. #ucr50@TA_ED50
@HungryHoang @TA_ED50@TA_ED50#UCR50 Hi there, I agree with everything you've mentioned. Athletes work too hard to achieve success. They should get more revenue for their effort.
@TA_ED50#UCR50 Why is time not being balanced accurately when playing sports? Athletes are required to do well in sports as well as academics but balancing both is hard. Implementing changes are needed.
@littlebunnyw@KatryaLy@TA_ED50#UCR50 Hi Lizeth, I do see that females join sports less than males. There could be several factors for this. I do agree with you we all need to be educated on this more. I love your picture for the discussion.
When it comes to gender and sports we see that males tend to join sports more than females. Females are seen more less than males and this could be several factors. I wonder if Title IX can bring a change or not? @TA_ED50#UCR50
@littlebunnyw@KatryaLy@TA_ED50#UCR50 I do agree diversity is always limited in colleges. It's really important to be diverse as it shows the community thinks broad. It all depends the way people try to bring awareness and change.
@mariavalla299@TA_ED50@TA_ED50#UCR50 Hey Maria, I feel like alcohol abuse is more likely associated with people that face many mental health disorders or those that are addicted to it. Athletes may suffer from alcohol abuse but many should be wise enough to not endure it.
#UCR50@TA_ED50 Athletes are under a lot of stress and I wonder they handle their mental health and life stress? Because not many people know how to cope with stress. I'd like to learn more on the mental health aspect.
@TA_ED50#UCR50
As a student it comes with many great responsibilities. And students need to stay fit emotionally, mentally and physically. I feel like athletics need someone to hear them out because it's a lot on their plate to handle many things. 📷
I feel like athletes are more prioritized in terms of everything academic wise. Students who join in sports are required to take things seriously rather than students that don’t. I wonder what the universities budget spending looks like for athletes? #UCR50@TA_ED50

@vrodr096@_alexander222@KatryaLy Hi @vrodr096 You have a point! I agree that coaches would want to see their students succeed more in their fields and sometimes forget as students their are other obligations. I feel like schools should be for the experience it has to offer. #UCR50@TA_Ed50
@TA_ED50#ucr50 In week 1's readings I have learned that athletics played a major role in education. When choosing which school I personally wanted to attend I never thought about athletics and their impact. I now wonder about UCR and the sports they offer and number of games won
