My family is from western Ukraine. During WWII, the Soviets did the same: they evicted locals - some were killed, others sent to Siberia - confiscated their homes, and gave them to Russians. Ukrainians have seen this all before.
On the morning of russia’s worst attack on Kyiv, don’t forget that russian Kara-Murza criticized sanctions on russia as unfair and targeting the entire country, demanded to lift them. Since that time, russian citizens produced thousands of drones and missiles, launched them against Ukrainian civilians.
I just love it — in Merkel’s version of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, everyone and everything is to blame: the Poles, the Baltic nations, COVID, lack of dialogue, maybe even Martians.
Everyone but Putin, Russia itself, or Merkel and her peers — those who nurtured the Kremlin monster, hooked Europe on oil and gas, spent decades appeasing the aggressor and feeding his growing appetite for land grabs, and, above all, did everything possible to block Ukraine from joining NATO and becoming immune to Russian invasion in the first place.
Excellent point by @yermolenko_v . And I do hope The Economist will publish his full response to Navalna. But here’s the gist:
Navalna repeats all the usual lines — don’t confuse Russia with Putin, don’t hate all Russians, the West needs a “strategy for Russia.” But she never says the key thing: how to win the war against Russia.
Her focus is entirely on “after Putin.” Yet she offers no path to get there. The Russian opposition, in practice, says: we can’t do anything, we just have to wait. Meanwhile, don’t hate all Russians.
For Ukraine, every day of this “waiting” means more deaths. And by pulling debates onto “good vs bad Russians,” they distract the West and ease its guilt — while avoiding responsibility themselves.
The only real question is: Does Russian opposition help Ukraine win? Or does it harm?
Because in the end, that’s the only thing that matters.
❗️DO NOT DONATE TO THE RED CROSS.
DEAR GOD, 3.5 years in I shouldn't have to be saying this but the RED CROSS are quite literally the worst people in Ukraine, only surpassed by the russians, they helped abduct Ukrainian children, abandoned POWs and left MANY Ukrainians to die.
This is happening at the same time as Russia is returning to Paralympic Games, Russian actors and singers are getting welcomed at the international level, and overall way too many people are trying to get back to business as usual with Russia
"Every time Ukrainians get killed, media blasts it everywhere."
But have you even heard about this?
Russians HUNTED 3,000 people in their own city. One by one. FPV drones striking civilians. Then when rescuers showed up—they hunted them too.
The International Paralympic Committee has just disgraced itself.
At its General Assembly, members were asked two simple questions:
1️⃣ Should Russia be fully suspended?
2️⃣ Should at least partial restrictions remain in place?
In both cases, the majority said NO.
The result? The Russian and Belarusian Paralympic Committees are now fully reinstated. The aggressor state that bombs hospitals, murders civilians, and leaves thousands of Ukrainians disabled for life will now march back into global sport — potentially even under their national flags.
This is more than a slap in the face to Ukraine. It is a betrayal of every principle the Paralympic movement claims to stand for.
Let’s be clear: Russia is responsible for creating tens of thousands of new disabled people in Ukraine — through missiles, drones, and landmines. And yet, instead of punishment, they are rewarded with reinstatement.
The IPC has sent a crystal-clear signal: war crimes don’t matter if you can still score medals.
Shame on the IPC. Shame on the countries that voted to normalize Russian and Belarusian committees while Ukrainians bury their dead and rehabilitate their wounded.
History will remember who stood with justice — and who stood with the aggressors.
Something that is being missed with diminishing attention on Ukraine is that the attacks on Kyiv are increasing. Last night was one of the biggest attacks of the war with 600 drones and 48 missiles being launched.
The main reason given for Russia's invasion of the Donbas in 2014 was the non-existent "oppression of the Russian-speaking minority."
Now, they have banned the use of Ukrainian in all occupied territories.
Oh, the irony.
The abduction of Ukrainian children by Russia is one of the largest war crimes since World War II, The Guardian reports.
According to Yale University estimates, around 35,000 Ukrainian children are listed as missing or are believed to be held by Russian forces. Some have been sent to military camps, others placed in orphanages or adopted.
Returning abducted children is extremely difficult. Desperate parents often travel to the Russian Federation themselves to search for their children. The article tells the story of one such mother, Natalya from Kherson, who spent six days on the road to retrieve her sons from a Russian camp in Anapa. However, her case is reportedly a rare exception.
Experts have identified many of the missing children using satellite imagery, digital traces, and official documents. Some children who made it back to Ukraine say they were forced to undergo military training, sing the Russian national anthem, and were punished for speaking Ukrainian.
According to the Bring Kids Back initiative, only 1,366 children have been returned to Ukraine.

Ben Shapiro:
“Vladimir Putin is one of the most consistent world leaders in modern history. He has been absolutely consistent in his territorial ambitions and his desire to restore 'Russian greatness'. But every US president has made a mistake of trusting him.”
Imagine these apocalyptic scenes in any other European city in 2025. This is what russia unleashed on Kyiv last night. Residential buildings smashed with missiles & drones.
It's hell in Kyiv right now.
Massive attacks with drones and ballistic missiles.
Twelve days ago, Europe's ultimatum to russia expired – without consequences.
Ukrainians were told to suck it up and negotiate peace with Russia. We did.
Our president was blamed for not negotiating with Putin. He then invited Putin to meet and negotiate peace ASAP.
Nothing of that seems to work — because Russia was and is the only obstacle to peace.
