We are officially heading to NIGERIA! 🌟
But why Nigeria?
Our 2026 General Chairs described Nigeria as a place representing "scale, imagination, and a fearless belief in what is possible."
For years, Nigerian builders and researchers have helped shape the Indaba from its earliest days. Now, we are bringing the energy home to channel a new focus: Sovereign Intelligence, the ability for Africa to build, steward, and understand its own systems.
As Wole Soyinka famously said, "A tiger does not proclaim its tigritude; it pounces."This year, we pounce. The journey to 2026 has begun!
Stay tuned for updates on dates, venue details, and application openings coming soon!

Every year at our AI Bootcamp, we celebrate two exceptional individuals who embody the true spirit of community, excellence, and selflessness as the Mr. and Ms. Algorithms.
Chosen through an open nomination and voting process, these honorees represent the heart of what our learning community stands for: collaboration, dedication, and impact.
Congratulations to our 2025 Mr. and Ms. Algorithms, Utibe-Abasi Abia Udoh (@UAbia79729) and @NunsiShiaki
Your passion and leadership inspire us all.
A special thank you to Microsoft for sponsoring this category and supporting the recognition of excellence in our community.
Here’s to more innovation, growth, and impact ahead. Cheers to all our winners!

Over a year ago, I was new to research without a clearly defined research area. It initially felt ambiguous, with little understanding of the prerequisites for conducting ML research. But @ml_collective gave me the platform to build my foundation. Although before that...

When I first pitched my project at an MLC Nigeria Sunday Research Jam (frame 1), I had no idea how to turn it into proper research.
But with their support, mentorship, encouragement, and even transport funding to IndabaX Nigeria, everything changed.
Your support is like saving a life.
Working on ML research problems at @ml_collective, while the constraints of research are expensive and limited in Africa, 25 early-career researchers are showing our work at the @DeepIndaba 2025

Can curvature-aware regularization tackle the sharp minima problem in deep networks to achieve better generalization?
I hope to present my findings at DLI’25 — and we’re almost halfway there!
Help make it happen.

Truly, talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not.
Doing research once felt unattainable until I found MLCollective. Now, 25 of us have a chance to grow even more at @DeepIndaba and we need your help to make it real.

@DeepIndaba 2025 is where we hope to connect, learn from the best, and transform that knowledge into real impact in our communities.
If you believe in African talent, this is one way to invest in it. 🤍

@ml_collective gave me the community, mentorship and skills to tackle real‑world ML challenges. Attending @DeepIndaba 2025 will amplify my research, expand my network and empower me as an early‑career researcher.

I’ve seen claims that Africans aren’t part of the AI revolution, but we’re out here training models with limited resources & visibility, publishing, and pushing boundaries.
Help get us to @DeepIndaba to amplify our work and voice.

We are raising $20k (which amounts to $800 per person), to cover their travel and lodging to Kigali, Rwanda in August, from either Nigeria or Ghana.

The opportunity gap in AI is more striking than ever. We talk way too much about those receiving $100M or whatever for their jobs, but not enough those asking for <$1k to present their work.
For 3rd year in a row, @ml_collective is raising funds to support @DeepIndaba attendees.
The passion is real. These stories are powerful. Every dollar is an investment in Nigeria and Africa’s future.
Let’s support these brilliant minds to attend #DeepLearningIndaba 💛

Happy #InternationalChildrensDay!
Today, we celebrate our children — brilliant young minds with bold dreams, shaping the future of Africa through technology.
At @dsn_ai_network (DSN), we’re committed to raising a generation that doesn’t just consume tech—but creates it. Through early exposure to AI, data science, and digital skills, we're nurturing tomorrow’s leaders, innovators, and changemakers.
From our AI+ Kids bootcamps, learning videos in local languages, and school-based coding clubs, to inclusive, AI-powered learning tools designed for underserved communities, DSN’s "catch-them-young" interventions span wide and deep. These initiatives reflect our belief that every child—regardless of background—deserves access to the skills of the future. We are building an Africa where the next generation leads and owns the future of AI.
Parents and guardians play a vital role in this journey. Together, let’s amplify curiosity, encourage creativity, and unlock purpose-driven learning.
Because when young minds dream big and are empowered to build, Africa wins.
