Riku Miura / Ryuichi Kihara 🇯🇵 73.11
Ryuichi: "I have not seen the footage yet. It can't be helped. We'll hurry and reset our mindset for tomorrow. We'll do the best we can."
Riku: "Lifts are completely about timing and that unspoken connection between us. So if it's even slightly off, this is what happens. I really wonder why. I think some of it was also bad luck. However, because of this mistake, we want to approach tomorrow even more carefully, step by step, with our minds cleared."
On their mindset before the performance:
Riku: "We both had good competitive tension. The twist and all the jump elements were working. I skated just thinking, 'I hope this type of thing won't happen tomorrow'. "
On their emotions after the performance:
Ryuichi: "It wasn't a small mistake, after all. It can't be helped. There's nothing to do now but to face ahead. The competition isn't over yet. There are still things we have to do. I just don't understand why it happened, though."
Riku: "We just have to take things step by step. We made a mistake today. So we reset. We can do it if we believe that we can. We'll reset and do our best tomorrow."
On the point gap and how a comeback would be possible for them:
Ryuichi: "Thank you very much for giving us words of courage. Right now, we just have to go for it. I've been able to properly switch my mindset now. We're not in bad condition. Tomorrow, the two of us, as a team, will make sure that we can speak here again as we usually do. We'll definitely come back, so please wait for us. We'll definitely come back."

It unfortunately wasn’t the night of Yuna Nagaoka and Sumitada Moriguchi 🇯🇵 59.62
We know you have a bright future ahead! Sending love! 🫶🏻
Yuna: “I feel both thankful and apologetic. Throughout this season, we’ve been able to deliver good performances in the short program, so I went in with confidence. But after making a mistake on the loop, I thought we could recover with the throw, and then we made another mistake there as well. I’m very frustrated.”
Sumitada: “We made mistakes and we skated with frustration. But we’re not going to break at a place like this. We want to show from here on out that we’re stronger than this.”
Sumitada: “This has become an irreplaceable experience. We are not finished, so I hope we can keep pushing forward and deliver a good performance next time.”
