Up to Manchester to have the meeting they’d have had anyway; then back to London (and, in his case, thence on to Plymouth).
We used to laugh at the EU for the performative nonsense of Brussels to Strasbourg and back.
Now we’re imitating it.
In years ahead we will look back at this self-indulgent nonsense in much the same way we shake our head at mad COVID restrictions today. Just an absolute joke.
Perhaps if the @BBCNews and the rest of the media stopped talking hysterically about heatwaves and went back to talking about summer, this wouldn’t be a thing at all.
There is absolutely nothing stopping these morons donating money to the Treasury. It’s accepts donations very happily yet for some reason these virtue signalers never seem to do that. https://t.co/MTorD0o2I0

The UK should not be deporting any democracy campaigners back to the Communist PRC or any territory they occupy, including Hong Kong.

Delusional. Sir Keir has driven up debt, undermined national security, damaged farming and education, decimated the hospitality sector, made life significantly harder for SMEs and massively increased taxes for no discernible benefit. The desperate legacy of a failed PM.
Well, that’s one way to make sure nobody ever comes to our country again to make major investments and/or start businesses.
And to make sure those already here quickly scarper.
Good luck forcing them still to pay after they’ve left.
And all for a measly £10bn a year (of course it will be nowhere near that in reality) — 0.7% of actual annual government spending.
Much more, of course, will be lost in capital flight and foregone future investment.
Is the country going bonkers?
Disagree with this. Voters elect a party first. If MPs switch sides they should have to seek reelection. Or we do away with parties altogether and elect independents. Can’t have it both ways.
'It's a complete waste of money.'
@LeeAndersonMP_ tells @NickFerrariLBC that he doesn't see the point in holding a by-election for a seat that he would 'win again quite easily'.
Would be easy to say NY Mayor is just an ignorant bigot, but he is not dumb. He's an evil anti-Semite who deliberately lies about serious things like "genocide" to stoke Jew hate. If anyone should be arrested, it's the Mayor of NY for incitement. NYC should be ashamed.
Given there was video footage of this horrific attack, how on earth did @DC_Police issue statements saying no evidence of political motivation & even imply it wasn’t murder at all? Questions to answer! & there needs to be a serious debate in UK about violent hard-left ideology!
You can only fear for our place on the global stage after his car crash time as Energy Secretary but, at least he isn’t Energy Secretary anymore - every cloud etc.
WATCH: Ed Miliband, who is now UK Foreign Secretary, accuses Donald Trump of "misogyny", "racism", and a "peculiar relationship" with Russia and "the truth".
This would be a huge mistake. So much potential for growth in the UK tech sector. #Burnham should be falling over himself to improve funding opportunities and slash bureaucracy to unleash this. Scrapping DSIT would not just send a bad signal, it would actively damage the sector.
🚨 Earlier today, the FT reported speculation about the future of the science and technology dept.
I’m told Burnham’s team has drawn up plans to scrap it altogether, with part going to DBT and part to DCMS.
Antonia Romeo wd oversee rolling out AI in the public service.
@Independent Burnham is planning a shakeup of the Foreign Office which is expected to include a roadmap from 0.2% to 0.7% of GDP spent on foreign aid
