Phew, it's been a huge amount of work for the whole team, but the day is finally here: #Dorico6 is out in the world, and we're looking forward to hearing what everybody thinks about the new version. It's absolutely packed with useful new things. Please take a look!
This is a great chance to pick up Dorico for a steal – especially if you're a student or a teacher, as single-user edu licenses are included in this promo.
Also, if you're a Sibelius user and have been thinking about adding Dorico to your toolbox, now's a good time!
Another new Dorico update out of the door to start the new year. Lots to look forward to from us in the year ahead, including another big update to the new Score Editor in Cubase coming soon, and of course a major new version of Dorico itself. Stay tuned!
@JnnyG@DanCJeffries@MakeMusicInc@finaleofficial @doricoofficial If we can be of any assistance as you're trialling Dorico, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We'd be delighted to help.
@Bent6 No easy way to do this by default, I'm afraid, but it's not a bad idea – I'll make a note of it and perhaps we can add it as a preference for the future.
@JenniPinnock @doricoofficial I always think of tempos around 72 bpm as "heartbeat" music, the kind of tempo at which lots of Renaissance choral music is performed. I probably sketched that tempo when we were working on the initial mock-ups and @anthughes probably followed suit – but I can't remember!
@bzgoldman Have just bought an upgrade to Unite 5 and disappointed to find it's not working well: errors related to icons, crashing when launching created apps. Can't find how to contact support via the https://t.co/03MV2vr0bS site – how do I get help?
In case anybody is interested in hearing even more from me, part 2 of this interview is now available on Tony's web site. We talk about our early days at Steinberg, the challenges of designing Dorico, what a typical working day is like for me, and more:

I recently had the pleasure of being interviewed by Tony Plog and Eddie Ludema for their podcast. Part 1 is available now. They asked me about how my early life led me into the field of music notation software. If you're interested, give it a listen!

We wanted to take a moment to celebrate some of the unique and powerful things we've built into Dorico. It's easy to overlook things when they're not brand new, and some of these features have been there for years. We also could easily have chosen 50 unique features!
@chriskrycho @doricoofficial Since that Summer Sale message, we’ve added an explicit expiry date to these messages so that they shouldn’t appear after the end of the relevant sales promotion. Sorry that you happened to see this one today! Hopefully you won’t see this kind of thing again in future.
@Ray_Phenicie@_Ian_Lewis@MusicOfLee You can import and export MIDI and MusicXML between Cubase and Dorico just fine – have you had any specific problems? Let me know, I’d be happy to help.
Free concert tonight at St. Nicholas’ Church, Great Wilbraham. If the tension of England’s quarter-final against France is too much for you, come and hear some beautiful seasonal choral music instead. Refreshments will be served! Works by Victoria, Lauridsen, Howells + more!
The Cantilena Singers, the Cambridgeshire chamber choir that I direct, has a concert coming up on Saturday 10 December in Great Wilbraham.
Programme includes Victoria’s wonderful “Missa o magnum mysterium”.
Admission free, with retiring collection. Come along!
We couldn't be happier with the response to our #CyberWeeks sale. Today's your last chance to join the thousands who have taken advantage of the huge 50% discount on offer for @doricoofficial new licenses, crossgrades, updates and upgrades. Buy right now – you won't regret it!
Proud of and grateful for @lilliepharris. She's put a huge amount of work into using examples from women composers in the Dorico Operation Manual. There are now more than 100 of them! Check out this blog post – some beautiful works to discover here.
@trombonepaul @doricoofficial If they give us an hour, we can show them why it would make sense to add or switch to Dorico, and we can provide the assistance to help the transition stick.
We’re here to help, so please do point us towards the people who make the decisions.
