36L/18R ➜ 1L/19R
Last night, the first phase of CLT’s runway renumbering was completed as Runway 36L/18R officially became 1L/19R. It's a big task as runway numbers can measure 60 feet tall by 20 feet wide. In addition to pavement markings, signs need to be changed on the taxiways, connectors and runway.
Why the change? With CLT’s new 10,000-foot Fourth Parallel Runway (1C/19C) set to open in 2027, the Airport is preparing now for system-wide consistency, safety and FAA compliance.
It’s been a crazy 72 hours. We’re currently representing 4 possibly 5 of the ~ dozen lessors that own #Spirit metal.
Since being activated on Friday at 6PM, we’ve deployed 20 pilots to 5 cities. It’s VERY complicated.
Just gaining access is a battle fought on zoom calls and WhatsApp channels.

Breeze was the first U.S. passenger airline flying the E195, and potentially the last.
Statement from the FAA on this evening's American 737 engine fire in Denver:
American Airlines Flight 1006 diverted to and landed safely at Denver International Airport around 5:15 p.m. local time on Thursday, March 13, after the crew reported engine vibrations. After landing and while taxiing to the gate an engine caught fire and passengers evacuated the aircraft using the slides. The Boeing 737-800 departed Colorado Springs Airport and was headed to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. The FAA will investigate.

@NWSNewOrleans, we'd like our snow back. Or at least some King Cake in return. 😉🙃
Wow, what a snow day! ❄️ It's safe to say this was a historic snowfall for much of the area. We're still gathering updated snow totals—check out the previous post for the updated PNS. We'll continue adding new totals here as they come in! #lawx#mswx
