Los Angeles abruptly ended the contract of the election security consultants it hired after the firm issued a report calling the 2026 California primary the least secure election in the state’s history. Mayor Karen Bass’s response? “We disagree with their assessment.”

Let’s be clear: these were the consultants THEY hired. They expected a rubber-stamp report. Instead, they got the truth — and immediately fired the messengers.
