@pastoremase Yes, and we also have the more subtle (to those in it) version of the PG - the comfortable, safe, apathetic, entitled, mostly white, evangelical subculture. Assumes we're deserving of our privileges and material blessings.
@joshhoweth Yes! In "Screwtape Letters" (XII) CS Lewis also develops this idea that genuine goodness possesses a depth and richness that evil can never emulate.
@CarsonWeitnauer Point taken, but...some of these crooked sticks have, by God's grace, drawn straight lines in my life at some point (Ravi, Gothard, Mac, Grudem, Sov Grace, Hybels, SBC, Piper, my own abusive ex-pastor). I share the concern, but also glad that God uses flawed people like me.

@EdWhelanEPPC Breathtaking display of doublespeak. "We welcome you, we despise you, we believe in free speech, and we're going to make it as hard as possible for you to utter two consecutive words." Good to know we have secure safe spaces on our elite campuses.
Who decided the the NBA all-star game would be more interesting without any pretense of defense? I've seen a lot more D in a Globetrotters game. I know D has always been downplayed, but this was too much. This isn't basketball. Show some respect for the game!
Jesus never offered reassurance of salvation apart from obedience, and neither should we. That said, we should NOT be “obedience monitors,” nor should we withhold mercy from the weak and the struggling.
@NeilShenvi Agreed. But the Dems should also nominate someone other than Biden, who is obviously slowing down physically and mentally. How many of us think he can even serve out his first term with this rate of decline?
@sheilagregoire I think the propensity to "borrow" uncredited material is one of the traits of narcissism - it certainly was in the case of one of my former pastors. Of course, it's also a form of laziness.
@ShaiLinne Hey Shai, I had a good convo with you about multiethnic church at Hinson Church here in PDX a few years back. I recently discovered and joined a great global community of Bible memorizers at https://t.co/Myy9KTTuij. Excellent for resources and encouragement!
.@BlumenauerMedia@RonWyden@SenJeffMerkley Tens of thousands of Afghan evacuees still face uncertainty about their immigration status. I urge you to pass the Afghan Adjustment Act and give Afghan evacuees a clear pathway to permanent residence!
