Students deserve to read beautifully written and worthy texts. If it is literature, let it be great literature. If it is informational text, let it teach students new words and new ideas in sophisticated ways. Let it, always, be worthy of their time and effort to read. EL Educ.

GMSD K-1 students are showing tremendous growth in reading. 2017 Winter Benchmark shows 90% of kindergarteners and 94.3% of 1st graders reading on grade level or higher.
