This milestone includes the first 3 TIPS placed in humans at the University of Utah, followed by the 7th and 8th implants in the nation just days later. This achievement represents the next evolution in TIPS technology and reflects Utah-IR’s rise as a leader nationally.
The Utah IR team has successfully implanted five of the first 8 including the First-in-Human 6-10mm Controlled Expansion Viatorr Stent, marking a significant advancement in Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt (TIPS) procedures.
